Day Care
Next Generation Children’s Centers (NGCC) believes that children should start their educational careers with a foundation of happiness, love, confidence, and a strong sense of self-worth. We are proud to lead the way in preparing children for kindergarten. NGCC has discovered that children learn best through hands-on activities. Our preschool learning center’s students engage in a variety of educational experiences that take place both indoors and outdoors. These activities are age-appropriate and tailored to the individual needs and interests of each child so that learning becomes associated with things they are already interested in. *We are now offering Flexipass. With Flexi-Pass, families can purchase 5 full days of prepaid care to use one at a time or all at once. There are no registration fees, no ongoing tuition, and no long-term commitment — just trusted care at a lower per-day cost.*

My program combines the structure and schedule of a typical preschool classroom with the comfort of a home environment. This helps children prepare for a transition into a kindergarten classroom. There is sensory play such as play dough or finger painting, time for pre-academics with letter and math games, read alouds, storytelling/story acting and other pre-writing activities. We spend a lot of time outdoors at two nearby parks to encourage free play and exploration and gross motor movement. We will have daily whole group meetings and activities as well as plenty of time for independent and group play. I encourage kids to step outside their comfort zone and try new things, even if it's hard. Maintaining routines and order is greatly beneficial and something I take seriously. Having clear and consistent boundaries and expectations makes everyone feel safe and respected. But while I firmly believe in structures and routines, there will be plenty of time for spontaneity and lots of fun! What is NeighborSchools? NeighborSchools helps experienced caregivers launch and operate licensed home daycares in Massachusetts. With better ratios and experienced caretakers, home daycare allows for more individualized attention for infants and toddlers. As a parent, you get a trusted partner for the long-term care of your child, right in your neighborhood, at a price you can afford.

The program is usually bilingual between English and Spanish. The kids get to work with both languages, which gives them a huge advantage in life. I am very hands-on with the kiddos and love to play with them. We play music, we go on field trips, we do art, reading, and tons of engaging learning through play. For outdoor play, we go to the playground behind my home or the historical navy yard around the corner where the children can learn about history and also play in the water fountain in the summer. We're also partnered with an agency called Child Development that facilitates field trips for the kids as well. We'll go sometimes to the aquarium, go for picnics, and even involve parents in the trips too! We firmly believe that a busy kid is a happy kid! My favorite activity to do with the kids is art. I love working with different mediums and seeing how the children express themselves differently. I am so proud of everything they create! Something that is super important to me is nutrition. I love to cook and always prepare meals for the children that are healthy and filling. I even give parents food when they come to scoop their child up and they give me the best compliments! It makes me so happy to send the children home with a full belly. My overall mission is to provide the highest quality care that I can from the time they're enrolled in my program to the time they set off for school. I provide the educational resources plus the development in other areas, such as social and emotional, that the children need in order to be prepared for the future. And I do it all in the most fun way! When they go to kindergarten or preschool, I know they're all set and that they've developed a love for learning that will stay with them for years to come. WE CURRENTLY HAVE ONE (Monday-Friday full day) OPENING IN OUR PRE-K NATURE CLASSROOM. WCCC’s Early Childhood Program provides a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, and a curriculum that addresses all areas of a child’s development – physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. Known for teacher longevity and high program quality, the school is located on the picturesque campus of Wellesley College. Founded in 1971, WCCC is a non-profit program run by a board of directors comprised of parents, teachers and members of the community. Our families are members of the Wellesley, Babson, and Olin College and surrounding Wellesley communities. At the Early Childhood program, we care for and teach 100 infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We believe that children learn best through active exploration and interactions with adults, other children, and materials. Children’s needs change as they grow and each room is organized to reflect these developmental differences. WCCC is well known for its caring, committed and talented professional staff and boasts a remarkably high teacher retention rate. With our emergent curriculum model, we create innovative, dynamic, safe and nurturing classroom communities. In the Nature Classroom, we recognize the importance of connecting children with nature in their daily lives. In this room, we spend at least half of our time each day outside. As research shows, the benefits of learning outdoors are enormous. According to Emily Cross, a professor in the School of Psychology, learning “where the learner is doing, moving, acting, and interacting”—can change the way the brain works and can accelerate kids’ learning process. Children who cultivate a strong connection to nature in early childhood tend to become lifelong environmentalists and stewards of the earth. The novel, challenging environments outdoors promote lots of teamwork, cooperation, and social-emotion growth. We venture outside every day, rain or shine, a classroom value that fosters self-care and resilience as we learn how to identify and dress for the weather! As part of our curriculum, we focus on cultivating awareness of the world around us through exploration, observation, inquiry, experimentation, and lots of play! On a day to day basis, you can find the Nature Room out and about the Wellesley College campus, smelling the blooms in the Arboretum, watching the ducks and turtles at paramecium pond, hiking through the North 40, or investigating the frogs and insects swimming in the Silver Thread stream.
