A unique opportunity to have your children cared for by a seasoned British Nanny/Daycare provider. I have over 25 years of childcare experience, I am a 200 hour registered children's yoga teacher and I hold a Law Degree from England. I offer a unique farm setting, with an in-house yoga studio, art room, large play area and a huge outdoor space for outdoor play. My philosophy is to treat your children in such a loving and nurturing way, that it feels more like they are visiting a favorite aunt, rather than being sent off to daycare. The children follow a daily schedule and also have enrichments, such as baking, art, yoga, science. They get to care for the chicken and ducks, and play an integral part in the running of the farm. When the weather is good we spend a large portion of the day outside. If the weather is cold, we try to bundle up and play outside, unless it is too cold. Each child learns in different ways, and I thoroughly enjoy finding the best way to teach and educate my little friends, in a way that is kind, supportive and very effective. The children in my care always meet or exceed kindergarten readiness goals set by the school district. Their day to day schedule is so well rounded that they look forward to coming to Puddleduck farm, and see it as a treat, rather than an upsetting experience, that can happen in certain daycare settings. I am only going to offer three spots in my home at this time. I feel like I can offer an unparalleled quality of care by taking less children. I am happy to consider just providing care for one family. Upon arrangement, I can offer weekend daycare for vacations and trips for families.

Lisa H. says "This place is amazing! The loving care my children (and our whole family) got here is truly unlike any other childcare situation we have experienced. From...

Welcome to Mulberry Farm Daycare! We operate our daycare in my charming 120 yr old farm house. The daycare sits on a pretty 1.3 acre lot, where a canopy of tree's cover most of the yard. We are conveniently located next to La Fox train station, just west of the Millcreek Elementary School. We are also in close proximity to the Kaneland School District. My name is Shelley Ost and I run this small daycare from my home. I am a certified in home daycare provider and a 200 hr registered children's yoga teacher. I am British and I have been in the US for about sixteen years. Our daily schedule consists many things. We cover Kindergarten readiness preparation, such as practicing hand writing, using scissors, number/letter recognition etc. We also have unstructured play time which is essential for social and emotional development for school. We bake, paint, garden, dig in the mud, use the sand and water tables, and play many outside games so the children get a good amount of physical activity and fresh air. We gather the chicken eggs, look after the animals and have many teddy bear picnics. Arts and crafts are a favorite of the children and we love creating new things every day. We are a special little daycare. We have very small numbers of children here and we like to create a warm and nurturing atmosphere. The children become an extension of our family, and the families become our friends. We keep goats, chickens, ducks, two small dogs and a cat. The children help take care of the animals, and "farm life" is interwoven in to our daily schedule. Caring for the animals provides countless opportunities for the children to learn about life, nature, health etc. Being outside is very important to us, and we spend as much time out in nature as the weather allows. Due to a few of my daycare children starting preschool, I currently have two openings. These spots are available for children aged two and above. If you would like to schedule a tour, or talk to the parents of the children I watch, please let me know. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or if you are interested in taking one of these spots, they will go fast.

Sheri L. says "Miss Shelley is playful, patient, loving, attentive and very laid back. All of these qualities are a necessity for anyone who is going to be responsible...

LICENSED IN-HOME DAYCARE ~~ At my childcare, I offer a secure place for your children to play, work and learn with other children. I value diversity, and welcome children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years old regardless of race, gender, religion, or disability. I believe that children learn through active exploration and play and that self-esteem is built on mutual respect between us all - adults and children. I structure my program to be responsive to the needs of each child. I therefore offer opportunity for group activities and privacy to play individually. I do my best to ensure the safety, comfort, health, and happiness of all children in my care at all times. I have been caring for children since 2003 in my home daycare. I am licensed through DCFS and am also a registered provider with YWCA Child Care Resource & Referral. I am certified in infant and children CPR & First Aid. My program incorporates Play-based learning, in which, children will learn their basics such as ABCs, 123s, colors, shapes, etc... I'm enrolled in association for child development program. That helps me continue to be educated in children's nutrition and health concerns. I have taken classes at the Dupage Children Museum to learn how to incorporate play in children's daily activities so they learn Math and Science at an early age. My hours are 7am to 5pm. I'm also available for additional hours before 7am or after 5pm for additional cost. I'm very flexible with my availability. All you have to do is ask. I believe in open communication.

Care Member says "Shreya took great care of our son from the time he was 3 months to 2.5 years. He loved spending his days at her home. She provided such special care and...

Grannycare in Geneva is a DCSF licensed, tax deductible, daycare, with all the qualifications to meet your family needs. We care for infants thru school age children, with a preschool setting and FT licensed assistant to bring fun to the learning process. We work with AOK for school readiness, and are involved with Fit for Kids, a consortium in Kane County that supports wellness, nutrition, fitness. We are registered with Illinois Gateways Registry for Early Childhood Education and are involved with these organizations to excel in providing your children with the best, most recent programs available. www.grannycareingeneva.com is my website, and I invite you to read all the information to ensure full disclosure of my mission philosophy to see how we compliment one another. Licensed daycares have to follow high standards and are the safest because of a wide range of criteria we have to meet. At Grannycare, we enjoy the beautiful setting overlooking the Fox River, and the spacious areas of an entire 9 room house, with a wonderful yard and many other outside spaces to explore and grow. The great benefit of a small family child care home is that it can provide a safe and loving environment in which all the children can learn and grow; developing life skills that will enrich their lives forever. Institutional environments will always be in their lives, and their own family environment is the nucleus from which their lives evolve. But family environments often don't include the same social mix as a family child care home. Many children grow up without learning the simple, important lessons of life -like sharing, taking turns, and being patient. Sometimes it's because they are the only child or because they are not close enough in age to a sibling. Grannycare in Geneva is all about restoring the simple things in life. I had a day care in the early '70s. I was the mom of four children born within five years; it was a fabulous time. I remember teaching my children manners: how to share, how to play fair, how to say "I'm sorry " when they hurt someone - all the behavior traits needed in a healthy social culture. That is what my daycare/family child care is all about.

Elizabeth C. says "My husband and I could not be happier with Grannycare in Geneva. Our son started attending full time when he was about nine months old, and he loved...

In-Home daycare

The older kids are at school all day, so I'm would like to watch 1-2 kids part-time or full-time in my Mill Creek home. I also will watch your child if you need a few hours to run errands, shop or just need some "me" time. I will provide a safe, loving, nurturing, clean environment for your child.

I opened my daycare home in February, 2016. I provide a safe, fun and friendly home environment for your child. I live in the home where I was raised with 9 siblings and where I raised my son. I have loved being around children my whole life. Besides caring for her own children, my mother did daycare for over 35 years. As we got older, we helped with our younger siblings and the daycare children. As an adult, I was her paid assistant from 1982-1985 until I started my first daycare home. I have been a volunteer at St. Peter's Church teaching Religious Education to 2nd Graders. I was a den mother for several years. I have numerous nieces and nephews. I had worked outside the home at the same company for the last 21 years but left to pursue my passion of taking care of children full-time, helping them learn through play. I believe children learn through every day activities and do not need to be in a structured school setting. That being said, I will be doing story and reading time, music, arts and crafts, games, outdoor play and other learning activities as time allows. I have a large yard and parks nearby. I am licensed for child care through DCFS. Nutritious meals are provided. I am in walking distance of Harrison Street School.

I am 46 yrs. old and a mother of 4 children ranging in ages from 6 to 26. I am also a Registered Nurse. Since my youngest is now in school full-time, I've decided to return to the workforce full-time. Before nursing school, I was a nanny for several years. The last few years I've babysat for friends part-time and as needed and I loved it! I really enjoy nursing but I love watching children more, so I've decided to open up a daycare in my home. I believe in lots of love, learning and fun. Our day would include circle time, songs, reading/learning time, free play, crafts, meals/snacks etc. Space is limited as I believe in lots of individual attention. Part-time, full-time and before and after school care is available for all ages. Meals provided. Excellent references available.
