With a Master Degree in Early Education and care, My goal is to provide children from three months to age 6 with experiences and activities of learning that will enrich them in all levels of development. We use research based curricula for our child centered activities and believe that children learn best through culturally rich environments, meaningful play and consistent scheduling. Though we are a family based child care we believe in going into the community for a significant part of our learning. This gives our students an opportunity to see the world they are learning about from a real life point of view. Field trips to local libraries and other learning environments/events are scheduled on a regular basis. We also provide at no additional cost, three full meals and two snacks for full time students and are closely monitored by a nutrition education program which insures we offer what is known to be best for the children at the appropriate age. We also offer assistance with toilet training and self regulation skills for behavior challenged children. We are a full year program accepting private pay and voucher assisted clients.

When children learn in their own way they learn for life. Bright Beginnings Bilingual Program is committed in helping and guiding children to develop positive self-concept, enhance creativity, and enrich their own life socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. We recognize the importance of Play in a child's life, and we give them the freedom to try new ideas, develop their skills, and form friendships in a safe and supportive environment. To help each child reach their full potential, activities are tailored to their own individual needs and interests, and combine play with cognitive activity. Favorite activities have included planting a garden and watching it grow over time, which not only teaches about the process of nature but also encourages patience and curiosity. In addition to teaching the basics, like letters, numbers and shapes, we place a lot of emphasis on developing each child's social-emotional skills. As educators, we learn what makes each child happy and what helps each of them to feel comfortable learning and exploring freely. We teach them how to advocate for themselves and how to be a good friend to others. Our goal is to provide each child with the ingredients he or she needs to build a solid base and become a lifelong learner. What is NeighborSchools? NeighborSchools helps experienced caregivers launch and operate licensed home daycares in Massachusetts. With better ratios and experienced caretakers, home daycare allows for more individualized attention for infants and toddlers. As a parent, you get a trusted partner for the long-term care of your child, right in your neighborhood, at a price you can afford.

My program combines the structure and schedule of a typical preschool classroom with the comfort of a home environment. This helps children prepare for a transition into a kindergarten classroom. There is sensory play such as play dough or finger painting, time for pre-academics with letter and math games, read alouds, storytelling/story acting and other pre-writing activities. We spend a lot of time outdoors at two nearby parks to encourage free play and exploration and gross motor movement. We will have daily whole group meetings and activities as well as plenty of time for independent and group play. I encourage kids to step outside their comfort zone and try new things, even if it's hard. Maintaining routines and order is greatly beneficial and something I take seriously. Having clear and consistent boundaries and expectations makes everyone feel safe and respected. But while I firmly believe in structures and routines, there will be plenty of time for spontaneity and lots of fun! What is NeighborSchools? We mix structured activities with free play and pretend. When the weather is nice, we spend time outside in the morning and in the afternoon. I see opportunities for learning through all of this. When we're playing, that's an opportunity to teach social skills. When we're outside, that's an opportunity to ask questions about blowing bubbles and to observe the nature. When we're doing puzzles, that's an opportunity to develop fine motor skills. When we're eating, that's an opportunity to learn about having a healthy diet. I also include developmentally appropriate structured learning that accounts for individual kids' needs. I use the Massachusetts infant and toddler guidelines to make a plan, and then I tailor that plan to the children in my program. They learn their numbers, letters, shapes, and colors among other things. Parents always tell me that their kids are well prepared for school. What is NeighborSchools? We are open 8am -6pm Mondays through Fridays. At Ethos, we understand parents’ needs and strive to offer total flexibility to support them as best we can. Our goal is to build a diverse and secure learning community for the children in our care. Learning and development is part of life that goes beyond the hours of a class, or the walls of a school. We understand the fundamental importance of building close, collaborative, relationships between parents and teachers. It’s vital to us that parents feel a part of their child’s development, so we have built regular contact and meaningful interaction between teachers and parents as a core pillar of our practice. The parent is the child’s most influential teacher and we believe that Ethos should be a natural extension of the home.

Every single day I am trying to give the children the basic foundations of life. Number one for me is good manners! From there we move to every academic piece that they must learn, like the alphabet, days of the week, to reading and writing on their own. We use phonics to teach reading and children excel at this. My favorite goal for the children is that they learn how to write the letters of their first name by the time they leave my program. Every day is new with the children, I love working with them precisely because they are so creative and full of ideas. I can lay out some supplies on a table and they turn it into a project I couldn't even foresee. I've found that they already have all of the wisdom and knowledge within them, all I do is give them some guidance and they create beautiful things! I also have a full staff at all times in the program. Safety, health, learning, and fun are incredibly important to me with the children. I bring a level of love, attention, and care that every child deserves. What is NeighborSchools? It is with great pride that we announce the opening of our new Infant and Toddler Program here, at USA Academy of Education Physical and Social Development Inc! Our property provides a backyard feel with endless outdoor possibilities. The Infant Program Infants will be able to attend our program for both full and half day options. Tuition will be based on the number of days attending. Proper Infant care and safety will be our number one priority, this being said we will strive to ensure an environment which fosters the ideals of preventing SIDS, practicing Safe sleep methods and learning through sensory activities! We will be strictly following the Department of Early Education and Care’s licensing guidelines as well to make sure children are meeting their needs and milestones such as trust, crawling, tummy time, walking, eating, sensory, socializing and fine motor development. I want to keep educating myself and incorporating the latest technology, lessons, and all of the new things that are coming out all the time about the development of children. I love helping the larger community within my home. I look forward to expanding my space over time and being able to teach many children over the years. We open at 7:30am and we begin the day with free play with a variety of toys. Then we clean up and wash hands and go potty before breakfast at 9am. We have a curriculum we follow to learn letters, numbers, colors, and shapes, before we go outside weather-permitting. We love to go out and be with mother nature whenever we can! After that, we come back in and wash up for snack time and prepare for circle time. We love circle time and reading stories. After that and some more free play, the children help with setting the table for lunch at noon, and help clean too. From 1 to 3pm we have nap time. For those children who don't rest, we have quiet play or we sit and chat quietly with each other. In the later afternoon we go outside once again weather-permitting and maybe go for a walk. Then we have puzzles, games, and singing until the kids have to clean up and get ready to go home for the night. It is a fun, packed day of learning and exploring for the children! There are many important aspects of Family Child Care to me. one is an engaging and development-oriented curriculum. This is enhanced by my learning of how to be a better educator. I am also incredibly attentive to healthy eating. I want to make sure the children are nurtured and that everyone is happy and smiling. I love that my program is family oriented. The children get the care and the love in a smaller group that they wouldn't necessarily be able to receive in a larger setting, yet the daycare center structure and philosophies are all still there. To the children, I bring my experience as a social worker and as an educator. I truly believe that their time with me is the foundation for a good start to kindergarten, and their entire future. I value that the parents trust me enough to help raise their children and prepare them for tomorrow. My program is more than just a place for the children to eat and sleep and play. I want to make sure they are learning everything they need socially, emotionally, and intellectually in order to have the best future possible. I really feel like if I'm not doing this then I'm not doing anything for them and that I'm not fulfilling my obligation as an educator. When they leave my care, I want to be sure that they are ready to embark on their next step. I have been doing this for 17 years now and so many parents still keep in touch with me to tell me how their child is doing. Some of my children have even graduated from high school now and I've always been invited! A lot of children and parents come back to visit. It's my greatest satisfaction to see that. Again, this is so much more than a job for me. There is so much love for the children, and a huge vision for their future in my heart. When parents and children come here, they know they're welcome and in good hands. I also love the beautiful relationships I get to build with parents. I'm not only an educator of their children, but I get to be there for them in a counselor role. We get to talk about life and goals for them and their children. I sit down to help the family in any way I can because we are a team. We work together to help the child succeed. This is the foundation for their lives and building that with both parents and educator is key. That is how I teach; that is my philosophy! What is NeighborSchools? My child care philosophy is inspired by the kids I've cared for throughout my life and what's worked for them. For example, my son is super active, always running around and playing. So I've created a variety of activities throughout the day for all kids and interests-from physical games when we have a lot of energy, to reading and arts and crafts when the children want to relax or have quiet time. Above all, I am always open to feedback from parents. I love working with parents to create the experience that works best for their children and families. What is NeighborSchools?
