I m looking to welcome (3) children into my home for 30-50 hours a week at $10-$12 an hour. Ages welcomed are 2-6, (children who are not yet in school and have full days in need of care) Highlights of my Home Care: Child-Led Learning Letting the child being the initiator of their learning. I will have focused attention towards your child s interests, passions, and unique learning style and will be making strong efforts to bring any resources available to your child to facilitate their learning. And have fun doing so! I want to nurture and celebrate their natural sense of joy, wonder and belief in their own limitless potential. Emotional Support and Nurturance The most important aspect of childcare is connecting and meeting the emotional needs of children. I will create an environment for your child that allows them to be heard and express themselves freely without judgement. When they feel emotionally satisfied is when they are truly able to thrive and learn. Organic, Healthy, and Kid-Friendly Lunch and Snacks When it comes to picky eaters I know what I m dealing with. Children do not like to feel controlled when it comes to their diet, that s why I will take initiative in getting the children (even the very young ones) involved in the process. An example would be taking them to the farmers market and letting them pick the veggie that they would like to help me prepare, or finding ways to turn their favorite meals healthy with the best quality ingredients. Allowing choices helps children to feel included and empowered to eat healthy. *All included in the cost Weekly Fieldtrips As fulfilling as the indoor projects and playing will be, there s nothing quite like exploring! We will go on weekly outings to stimulate your child s mind and get natural sunlight. I am located right next to Cloverly Park, the Wissahickon River & Trails, The Zoo, The Touch It Children s Museum, and the Farmers Market. *All included in the cost Discipline - What sets me apart from most nannies is my way of dealing with negative behaviors. I believe in setting limits using gentle guidance instead of punitive punishments. I will never shame your child or give them time outs because I have a deep understanding that a child s bad behavior is simply them acting out a need that they are unable to communicate. Instead I will investigate the ro

The mission of the Margaret George School is to provide love and respect in a stimulating environment where children are encouraged to reach their potential in all areas of development: social, emotional, physical and intellectual. Each child is an individual with inestimable worth, both as an individual and as a member of society. Following the guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, we apply the knowledge of child development to our curriculum and policies to ensure that programs are developmentally appropriate for each age group and each individual child. Our teachers prepare environments so that children may learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children and materials. Children are treated with respect. Our staff responds quickly and directly to children's needs, desires, and messages, adapting their responses to each child's differing style and abilities. Whenever possible, children are given choices fostering development of self-control. Our staff facilitates the development of self-esteem by respecting, accepting, and comforting children regardless of their behavior. Conflicts are resolved respectfully, taking into account each child's needs at the time. Our staff follows the guidelines developed by Rudolf Dreikurs in his books. Angela's Family Day Care

Hello Parents! Five Peas in a Pod is a very small in-home daycare that has been in operation since 1994. A little about me, my name is Angela and I'm a 44 year old married mom of two daughters ages 22 and 19 years old. My husband, Dan, is a teacher in our local school district. We have one Boston Terrier, Spencer, who just turned 6 years old. The children in my care do not have access to him although he is as friendly as can be. I currently provide care for three little girls, ages 5 years old, soon to be 3 years old, and soon to be 2 years old. The five year old has been with me since she was 18 months old. She will be leaving to join her older sisters at day camp in mid-June and will then move on to kindergarten in September. So as of July 5th I will have 1 full-time opening available. A. is the three year old and she has been with me since last June. I met her family through a mutual friend. M. is the youngest and has been with me since she was 10 weeks old. I met her family via another daycare site. We spend our days doing crafts, singing songs, reading books, playing with toys, & weather permitting we are outside every day. I have a nice assortment of outdoor climbers and slides as well as bikes. We also devote time to kindergarten readiness. B. is able to recognize and write her entire alphabet (both upper and lower case), spell and write her first and last name, count and write her numbers 1 through 100, she is able to identify most letter sounds with the exception of the vowels (but we still have time!), and she can complete patterns. Just if not more importantly, she has developed problem solving skills, is kind and considerate of those around her, is able to share and take turns, and is eager to learn. She is ready for kindergarten! I take this responsibility very seriously and enjoy finding creative ways to engage the children in learning. I've included a link to my Facebook page, here you'll get an idea of what we do every day. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to arrange a visit. Thank you for your time!
