Hello there, I love to take care of children. I have been working with children for 10 years. I used to work in summer camps with kids and also volunteered at a preschool in NYC for a year. After that, I worked for Preschool of America in the Upper West Side NYC for 5 years. I was working as a Teacher Assistant with children ages 2 to 5 years old. Last year I worked as a nanny with a new born and a 6-year-old. I'm really interested in child development physically and mentally. I have an 11-year-old daughter of my own and I am CPR certified. I look forward to meeting you and your family. Thanks

Ericka is an exceptional person. She has been a huge part of our family for the last 4 years. She cared for our 3 children as if they were her own. We poached her years ago from our daughter's preschool in NYC, because she was the most amazing teacher there! She has such a way to engage and nurture children. Ericka became our full time nanny when we had our newest baby- she was even in the hospital with us for the birth. She has a warm and loving disposition, while being firm with the kids when she needs to be. She also an amazing cook! I love that she is so health conscious because she made sure our kids ate nutritious foods. She also taught our girls some Spanish! Her calming spirit put all of us at ease. We would've never let her go- sadly we moved out of state. We miss her every day!! If you're reading this and she's available you should hire her immediately because someone else will. My kids and I love her so much and wish her the very best!

About Me.

Laurie was born in Santa Cruz, raised in Santa Clara and has been living and raising her family in Santa Cruz since 1989. Not long after moving back to Santa Cruz, Laurie found the SCWS campus and immediately knew this was the only educational and life direction for her and her family. As soon as she found a local Waldorf-inspired playgroup located on the Westside, she and her daughter felt at home. While her daughter was a student, Laurie assisted in the off-site kindergarten and completed her teacher training at Rudolf Steiner College. She went on to run her home nursery school and parent support program. More recently, Laurie has completed the Professional Puppetry Training Course offered through Juniper Tree Puppets. Story telling and puppetry is a magical way to support language development to support a child's emerging will and sense of goodness. She is currently enrolled in the Waldorf Learning Support program at Arcturus, a Waldorf teacher training institute. I

Laurie is the best! She cared for our two young children while I transitioned back to work. As a child psychologist, I find myself extremely choosy with who I have care for my children. Laurie brings a loving, warm energy to the home. My children are both slow-to-warm and Laurie demonstrated loving care as she carefully aligned herself to their personal rhythms. She has a true passion for truly understanding the needs of children and meeting them where they are. My children loved her storytelling and puppetry - what a delight! It was wonderful to see them warm to her and look forward to their Laurie time each week. I would highly recommend Laurie for any family looking for a patient, authentic, responsible and loving caregiver for their children.
