Help needed for my father in his 60s - seeking full-time hands-on care. The ideal match will meet the requirements below. Meal Preparation: My father is a diabetic. Carb conscious meal prep and oversight and making sure meal bolus' are kept up with.. Transportation: Errands or appointments, mileage is reimbursed. Bathing / Dressing: This is more just general safety, making sure the bathroom is clean/clear. As far as dressing it's more about making sure he doesn't leave the same clothes on 3 days in a row kind of thing. Or changing shirt if soiled. Light Housekeeping: Keeping up communal areas and keeping a safe path. Cleaning is definitely a large part of this job! Errands / Shopping: There is grocery shopping involved at times and going to the bank or store as needed. Help Staying Physically Active: This is a big one, he doesn't love to do. But is required if his number is too high, but also very much encouraged. Again, he doesn't love to do it. Medication Management: This is important, he gets packaged pills from the pharmacy, changeouts for his pump and injections in his belly. Companionship: My father is a positive personality for the most part. Loves to sing. LOVES to sing. Oversight definitely needed when in the kitchen. He likes to munch on things he shouldn't. Schedule Details: Currently know specifically of Fridays 8a to 3p, Fri 430p to 7p, Sat 8a-1p, Sat 430p to 7p and Sunday 1p to 7p. And to fill in as desired/needed. If you are looking for hours and are a great caregiver, we have hours. Must be dependable! Dad does have memory issues and the mobility concern is mostly just at times. No cane or walker or anything of that sort. So my dad is a great guy, but set in his ways. You will be part of a caregiver team very invested in him. Myself, 3 other females and his sister oversees his care. He has a live in girlfriend. Dad has a great sense of humor and loves his music.
