This is an unusual role. I travel frequently for work, and I am looking for a sitter who can pick up my toddler son at daycare in Northbrook by 6:30, and then transport him to our home to meet up with my 11-year-old daughter when I am out of town. Evening hours are dependent on my husband's work schedule - but likely to never exceed 8 p.m. If later, sitter will prepare a simple meal (either heating up leftovers in the microwave or making mac/cheese) and put son to bed. Depending on the day, sitter may also need to pick up daughter at dance as well. It's all variable, and because of that, I would pay the sitter a significant flat fee for first hour of transporting kid(s), then standard hourly rate for anything beyond that. Could be ideal for a nanny who has weekday evenings available looking for occasional extra hours.
