Hi, I'm Ellen. I'm a licensed pharmacist who loves math and science! I can help with middle school, high school and undergraduate math and science work. I like to make learning fun with lots of examples and by breaking down material into bite-sized chunks. I can do everything from helping with homework to reviewing materials for an exam. My experience started with helping my younger sisters with homework, to tutoring elementary and middle schoolers during college to now working with pharmacists and pharmacy students.

I am currently attending California University of Pennsylvania to receive a Bachelors Degree in Middle Level Education (grades 4-8) with a concentration in mathematics. My goal is to eventually teach children in a public school to love math. I recently accomplished one of my goals and obtained an Associates Degree of Science in Early Childhood Education and Development through The Community College of Allegheny College. I have maintained a 4. 0 GPA throughout my combined college experience. With that in mind, my experience has proven to me just how much I love what I do. I love children, but possibly, more than that, I love all the lessons they have to teach me.

Hi, As a semi-retired legal professional and mom of a daughter in college (and so the reason for seeking extra income), I have life, academic and parenting skills to share - as well as more to learn. I can help with elementary and middle school English, Math, History, Science, Music, and foreign languages. I enjoy caring for a friend's 18-month-old daughter once a week, and would like to spend more time working with children. As part of their education, I would do my best to instill confidence, creativity, and respect for others . I'm a positive, patient and energetic person - I'm all for being active/getting outside. I'm a dog, cat, fish and former hamster owner, and would be happy to help care for pets too. I look forward to meeting your family!

I have been employed as an Elementary Teacher for 18 years with the Pittsburgh Public Schools, teaching grades first through fourth grade. I've taught all subjects, including Math, Reading, Grammar, Writing, Science, and Social Studies.

I graduated from Washington and Jefferson College with a 3. 71 GPA. I earned 16 credits in math and have tutored math and ESL. I worked as an English as a Second Language teacher for six years. I have also passed the PRAXIS II for Middle School Mathematics.

I have been teaching for nine years. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grade. Reading is my passion. My goal is for my students not just to be good readers, but to LOVE reading too. I also believe that no child should ever feel they are not a "math person". I believe that a child should understand math, not just memorize facts.

I am a National Board Certified Mathematics Teacher who is currently a stay at home mom. I am looking for tutoring work. I have taught high school math for 6 years before having children.

I am a high school graduate, with plenty of experience tutoring friends and classmates through-out my 12 years of education. I also have three younger siblings that I have helped with various subjects over the years. I aspire to one day be a teacher, but currently I am working, with secondary education on the back-burner. My areas of expertise include the French language, which I took classes for from age 12 to 18. I am also more than capable of tutoring elementary and middle school students in math, language arts, or reading. Being a recent graduate, I am not far removed from the educational system, and still have an understanding of both how it works, and the classes I took. I am a full-time high school math teacher! Making learning fun is my passion, and I love showing kids that math can be fun and rewarding. I have tutored math for over three years, taught in a high school for one year, and tutored for a year. I love working with kids of all ages, and have experience tutoring first grade math through Calculus. Are you looking for someone to help brush up your student's skills over the summer? With my 33 years of extensive experience in teaching math at private, Catholic and public schools; and exceptional knowledge of 7th through 12th grade math, I am confident that I will meet the needs of the position available in your school. Teaching is not a profession or a career for me, it is a way of life. My goal has always been to help each one of my students develop and utilize their higher order thinking skills to solve every day problems and situations. Further, I believe that the student should always remain the focus of any conversation. My approach is to do whatever it takes to help each student meet the standards. This may mean differentiating instructional methods and or assessments to best suit the student in question. The magic ingredient is that through encouragement and reflection students acquire the mindset that growth is possible when the target is clear and the effort consistent.
