I'm Amy! I moved to Pittsburgh in February 2022. Simply put, I love my job at a community nonprofit AND enjoy using my teaching degree to mentor youth on the side. I am thoughtful, detail-oriented, and patient. In the last decade, I've tutored or nannied 11 families with students ages 2-17. I specialize in tutoring middle to high school students in Spanish and English (grammar, reading, and writing). I graduated from the College of Saint Benedict with an Elementary Education major and Spanish minor. For four years, I served as the enthusiastic Activities Director of an after-school program with students in grades K-12. I planned academic activities, facilitated team building, and coordinated college tutors. Before COVID, I served as a substitute teacher. In my free time, I volunteer with Special Olympics, and am comfortable working with students of ALL abilities. I look forward to hearing from you!

We hired Amy primarily as a Spanish tutor for our daughter to help with high school Spanish. Our daughter has dyslexia so learning a second language is especially difficult. Amy did such a great job that our daughter has continued on with Spanish and is completing her third year of high school Spanish. Amy was also a tremendous help with our other two kids helping one on one with general school work, writing assignments, and even organizational skills. She is kind, thoughtful, punctual, and very effective at getting our kids to use their best effort. She was really instrumental in helping our kids stay focused and engaged in learning during the very difficult "distant learning" time. She was an exceptional find and we miss having her help. I would give her my highest recommendation.
