Experienced Babysitter/ Para-Educator/ Tutor (10+ Years)

Avg response < 2 hrs
I've worked with children of all ages for over 10 years as a part-time babysitter as well as a Special Education Para-Educator (Los Angeles Unified School District) helping students that have special needs and/or disabilities. Some of my responsibilities include, but are not limited to supervision of children, behavior management, 1:1 assistance(academics), interactive play time, preparing meals, toileting, light cleaning, tutoring, helping with homework and promoting language and writing skills in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I never expected to do this line of work; it just happened so by accident and I don't regret it all. I've learned so much, met amazing individuals and it's been an awesome ride. I'm passionate about what I do and I believe in this career you have to be able to show empathy, patience and love kids and I've been fortunate to have had so many great experiences. I love to travel, learning about and experiencing different cultures and helping people.

Grace was super sweet and great with our 2-year old. She was punctual, professional, and kind. She babysat our daughter two nights in a row in our hotel room while we were attending a wedding. She brought toys with her which was a big hit. My daughter squealed with delight and ran up to her when she saw her walk in on night 2. Overall great experience and I would definitely recommend her. Thanks Grace!!

We have 3 kids (6, 4, 4 year old) and hired Cindy a few months ago to pick up from school and bring them to activities. We are very happy Cindy accepted this job as she is incredibly reliable and helpful. Running around from a place and activity to another, Cindy does an amazing job! She is very organized, punctual, careful and tidy, and our kids truly love her! Every time my wife gets home, Cindy is talking to the kids, playing with them on the floor or at the table. Cindy brings a lot of educational games for our kids, so they are entertained, have fun and also learn. She is very patient and loving; at the same time, she has a good command and kids feel safe and nurtured. Something I really appreciate about Cindy's way to interact with our kids is her strive to make the kids become independent (learn to dress by themselves, carry their stuff...). When our kids know Cindy is coming they look forward to it. Last, a few times she ran the extra mile to accommodate last minute requests.

$15-20/hr 2 yrs exp 28 yrs old

Hi there! My name is Alexandria and I go by Lexi for short. I'm a 24-year-old student, currently taking part time classes at Santa Monica College. My school schedule is built around my work hours as I nanny full-time to support myself financially. I've nannying full time for nearly 3 years and extremely enjoy it. As of right now I m looking for something to add on to my amazing primary family who I'm with M-TH 3:45 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. and F 2:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Picking up something on the weekends or even something the mornings/early afternoon would be ideal but I'm flexible and will always try to make it work as best to my ability. I can work short term jobs as well such as date night sitting, temporary/fill in sitting. I'm a multitasker and I make sure that everything I do is thorough and sufficient. I have a reliable car and can provide proof of license/insurance. Totally comfortable with pick ups/drop offs to and from school & after school activities. I'm very tidy, organized, and punctual. Also comfortable with running errands, housework, washing bottles (if needed), doing/folding the laundry, preparing simple meals and snacks. I enjoy playing games (board games/outdoor activities) with the kids, listening to music, going for walks, reading, or even just engaging in conversation with them, etc. Capable of helping out w/ homework as well. I also speak fluent Tagalog for the parents who would love for their children to be bilingual. I'd like to think I'm a pretty easy going and fun babysitter while maintaining an authoritative figure while you, the parents, are not present. To give you a little more background on myself and my experience - I'm a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and I have CPR/first aid training. Before I started nannying full time, I used to help out my family and have taken care of all of my cousins throughout my life. I have experience with infants, toddlers and older preteen/teen kids. I truly have an authentic love for children. I was originally in school aiming to become a pediatric nurse. Gradually, overtime as I worked as a worked as a CNA in a rehabilitation center I realized that working in the that type of environment was not my calling. So now I m pursing a career in public relations/communications. Hopefully this interests you and we can talk further. I can provide references per request.
