Welcome to Camp Footsteps Adventurers! Footsteps Child Care, in partnership with the City of Belmont Parks and Recreation, is excited to offer nine weeks of summer camp designed specifically for older children and youth entering fourth grade through middle school. This summer, we are thrilled to feature specialized classes provided by Lando, including Advanced LEGO Robotics and Clay Studio Lab. Field Trip: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk & Optional Overnight Camping Every day brings something new to discover, learn, and explore—making camp an unforgettable adventure! MONDAY kicks off the week with team-building activities that help campers connect and collaborate, plus Advanced LEGO Robotics (10am-12pm), where they will choose a robotics challenge, plan their build, and test it with real data. Using LEGO® bricks and Technic components (beams, axles, gears, motors, and sensors), they will tune for speed, lift, or control, log test results, and present how each modification improved their design. In the afternoon campers can participate in a group cooking project. TUESDAY features morning hikes through local trails followed by recreational swimming at the Carlmont High School pool. WEDNESDAY is field trip day, with exciting excursions designed for adventure and exploration. Campers will experience thrilling attractions, water activities, outdoor adventures, and even an overnight camping experience! Each trip offers opportunities to build friendships, try new activities, and create unforgettable summer memories. Our tour for sports fans! Welcome to the City of Champions! Six Super Bowl Rings, 5 World Series Pennants, and 5 Stanley Cups are just part of the history of Pittsburgh Sports. On this tour, you’ll visit the sites that tell the stories of the icons and iconic events that have made die hard fans of locals and others across the country, and the world. You’ll learn fascinating and unique histories of team names and uniforms, crazy traditions of Pierogis Races, Terrible Towels, the glory days of the Negro Leagues, and Pittsburgh’s role in furthering player safety. Along the way, we will also see some notable landmarks that help tell the story of this city that grew from a frontier outpost to one responsible for creating the infrastructure of the United States in the mid 19th century, and heralding today’s achievements in AI, robotics, and biomedical research.

Your captain, Grant, born and raised in the great Northwest, has been sailing since he was 12 years old and loves taking guests out on the water--while inviting them to steer the boat as much as they like, while he borrows your phone to take photos of you on the helm. Grant is a U.S. Coast Guard–licensed 100-ton Master of Inland Waters who has sailed in a race to Hawaii, and served as navigator on a sailboat going from Seattle to San Diego. He was also a charter captain in Greece. Grant is a former reporter for The Seattle Times and a former Science & Medical writer for the Associated Press. His book "The Tomorrow Makers" about AI, robotics, and the future of humanity, was named one of the 10 best books of the year by the American Library Association.
