Calling all car lovers out there! During this session, children will build a new kind of car each week and learn the concepts surrounding it. For example one week might focus on a power car where children try different gear combinations and another week might focus on building a car with sails and learn all about wind resistance and its effect on speed. This is a great introduction to the exciting world of robotics, coding/programming and engineering! Kids will be guided in each step of assembling and programming their robot. This entry-level robotics course builds foundational computational thinking as students explore what robots are, how they work, and what they can do. Through structured, hands-on challenges, learners create simple algorithms, give and follow step-by-step instructions, and map routes to see how robots interpret and execute commands, establishing early problem-solving, sequencing, and cause-and-effect skills.

Our tour for sports fans! Welcome to the City of Champions! Six Super Bowl Rings, 5 World Series Pennants, and 5 Stanley Cups are just part of the history of Pittsburgh Sports. On this tour, you’ll visit the sites that tell the stories of the icons and iconic events that have made die hard fans of locals and others across the country, and the world. You’ll learn fascinating and unique histories of team names and uniforms, crazy traditions of Pierogis Races, Terrible Towels, the glory days of the Negro Leagues, and Pittsburgh’s role in furthering player safety. Along the way, we will also see some notable landmarks that help tell the story of this city that grew from a frontier outpost to one responsible for creating the infrastructure of the United States in the mid 19th century, and heralding today’s achievements in AI, robotics, and biomedical research.

The after school program is for TK to 5th graders and includes activities such as reading, dance, show & tell, arts & crafts, science trivia, yoga, world culture and board games. In addition, for an additional charge, we also offer weekly enrichment classes. These include: Mon - Lego Robotics, Tue - Spanish, Wed - Art, Thu - Mad Science, Fri - Chess.
