Where they are: Children are ready to embark on a classroom experience without their adults by their side. They are ready to develop early literacy skills; collaborate and negotiate with their peers; and learn ways to communicate, cooperate and play together. What to expect in class: A playful twist on a traditional preschool/pre-k class. Children will develop the fundamental skills necessary for reading and writing as we explore letter recognition, phonics, sight words, spelling, and comprehension. They will build social skills during Gathering Time, while exploring the day’s fun and imaginative theme, and during Show and Share. Children will learn decision-making skills and build fine motor skills during our station play, and expand their creativity through art. The learning will extend to the home with printable “Literacy Kits”, with letter and theme-based worksheets. We will help prepare them for a lifetime love of school, classrooms, and learning.

    Gage's Music Lessons (Guitar)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Richland, PA

Years of Experience: 10 Location Options: In Home Travel Radius: 15 Genres: Rock, Acoustic Age Groups: Children, Young Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons Overview: After being taught by Bryan Stevenson (studio owner, musician, producer, performer, song writer, artist, etc.) from the time I was 11 until approximately the age of 17, when he could no longer teach me any further, I began to play occasional shows with him. This has given me perspective and insight into what it takes to be a musician, and indeed the passion that goes along with it. Over the years, music (playing guitar in particular), has become a very vital part of me. When things go wrong, picking up a guitaris my antidote. I wish to teach others so that they may find the same salvation in their passion for music as I do. I believe music is anextremely efficient way to bring out who you are as a person, and I wish to employ this idea in my occupation. Perry's Music Lessons (Guitar, Bass Guitar, Production, Song Writing)

    Dallas, TX

Years of Experience: 17 Location Options: In Studio, In Webcam Travel Radius: 30 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country, Acoustic, RB, Pop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult, Under 6 Years Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Bass Guitar Lessons,Song Writing Lessons,Record Engineer Produce Overview: I was born in 1981 in Dallas, TX as the fifth generation of a family of artists and musicians. I grew up in a household environment that had paintings and instruments everywhere; but it wasn’t until I turned 11 that I was inspired to pick up the electric guitar and learn the alternative rock riffs and sounds of the day. I started playing a nylon string guitar for a music class at school since I had no desire to play recorder, and met my first jamming buddy and we formed our first band. All this time I was absorbing the sounds of the nylon string guitar through the music of Ottmar Liebert, Gypsy Kings, Segovia and Sabicas that my parents listened to, so I decided to undertake the task of teaching myself sight reading and classical guitar technique. I was accepted to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a music cluster student. Once I was there I attended workshops w/ concert artists, played solo recitals, as well as with various ensembles, and even formed a jazz-fusion-rock band with my peers. Following years of jazz studies and private classical lessons, I received a full scholarship to attend SMU as a classical guitar performance major with Robert Guthrie, the master student of the Romeros and Segovia. I completed my studies and earned my BFA at SMU in 2005. I began to pursue a professional career as an artist collaborating on several recording projects for soundtracks and albums, solo gigs, in addition to, performing locally as a member of several Swing, Jazz, and Rock bands. I have performed at local festivals such as ArtFest, The Swiss Avenue Historic District Home Tour, and at many other local events and venues. In 2008, I realized one of my greatest passions is to instruct the guitar and pass the knowledge of its sublime musical language, proper technique and posture to future generations. My students have competed in UIL competitions and have been accepted to the music cluster of Booker T. Washington, University of North Texas, and most recently the Master’s Program of Berklee School of Music in Valencia, Spain. Formal Education: High School: Booker T. Washington School for the Visual and Performing Arts Music Cluster ; Bachelors of Fine Arts : Souther Methodist University, 2005 Private Education: Electric and Rock Guitar Studies w/ Brad Maclemore 1, Jazz and Theory Studies w/ Chuck Pangburn and Kent Ellingson 1, Classical Guitar Studies w/ Robert Guthrie 1. Bands I've played at such events as Dallas Artfest, and with bands including the Three Quarters Fast Dixieland Band, the Southland Swing Band, Lynch Perry w/ drummer David Lynch, the Monoliths of Phobos, Constellation Flight, SpaceKraft and many more. Experience Teaching: I have taught private solo and group guitar classes for more than a decade. I've worked for various studios and coordinated many student recitals, but I've been teaching only one-on-one Skype lessons for the past 3 years. My teaching specialties include: Youth Education, Sight Reading, Music Theory, Solfeggio, Classical/Flamenco/Jazz Technique, Right Hand Technique and Fingerpicking, Chord Melody, Interpretation, Lead Rhythm Electric Guitar, Travis Picking, Open Tunings, DADGAD and alternate tunings, Celtic music, Ambient Guitar, Pat Martino's Sacred Geometry of the Guitar/Nature of Guitar/Linear Expressions, and Contemporary Guitar and Recording Technology, Recording, Editing, Mixing and Mastering and Effects. -Education- Degree: Bachelor's of Fine Arts School: SMU Dates: 1999-09 -Reviews- Name: Tejaswi Gorti Date: 2016-09-12 22:33:53 Title: Most Inspirational Guitar Teacher!!! Body: I took classical and flamenco guitar lessons from Perry from 2012 to 2016. These four years of my life have been nothing short of a mind-blowing experience. Perry introduced me so many different types of music, expanded my knowledge, understanding and intuition of the guitar. I noticed my musicianship exponentially improve thanks to his guidance. He had been an incredibly patient and perceptive teacher during my years of learning. Last but certainly not least, Perry has been a source of deep musical inspiration for me. It was under his tutelage, that I became energized to pursue my passion for music by enrolling in the Berklee College of Music Master's degree program, as a music producer. Name: Kim Kelly Date: 2016-09-13 14:09:56 Title: Perry N Body: Thank you for reaching out about Perry. He has been teaching my daughter to play guitar since 1/5/13, and he has been working with me since November. My daughter is now 10 and was 7 when she started. She has built tremendous strength and aptitude for sight reading, keeping a steady rhythm and developing musicality and emotion into her playing over time. Perry's style is extremely professional. He is incredibly reliable and punctual. He provides Myra with different styles to influence her range of options. He has brought music and suggested progressive learning books to choose from. He challenges Myra while not frustrating her, and they gradually increased her lesson time from 30 to 60 minutes as she built the aptitude to play for longer periods of time. Perry does a great job of mixing scales with chords with picking, and provides a range of ways to achieve the same sounds with minimal stress to her body structure. In addition, Perry takes the time to teach theory and history so that she has a well rounded perspective of the art. There are days when she is not at the top of her game, and Perry recognizes this- on those days he tries to have fun and just allow her to jam. I love listening to the two of them together. They have built a solid relationship around their mutual love of music and the guitar. We've had the fortune to see Perry play at one of his local gigs, and his talent and professionalism always continue to impress me. I fully recommend Perry for this job and hope that his is considered as a strong candidate. Kim Kelly Name: Nic Fatemi Date: 2016-09-20 05:10:27 Title: Perry - classical and flamenco Review Body: I've been working with perry for more than a year and half. Years of Experience: 22 Location Options: In Home Travel Radius: 25 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Bass Guitar Lessons,Vocal Lessons,Song Writing Lessons,Record Engineer Produce Overview: I've been playing the bass for 14 years and been in countless bands 100% completely self-taught before I played the bass I went to school for choir that is where most of my formal training comes from. I started out playing blues/country and some classic rock. I then moved up to take up jazz and some of the more extreme forms of heavy metal. I can play anything you put in front of me and learn mostly by ear I only use sheet music as a last resort. Currently I play in 3 bands one is a private melodic death metal project, the second is called Heloicide it is a melodic blackened death metal band and the third band I'm in a actually just do for fun its a blues folk band i play the bass and 12 string guitar in that band. I also have a bass guitar endorsement by a company called vengeance guitars he is making me a bass as we speak. Formal Education: 12 years in choir school Private Education: 14 years bass playing Experience Teaching: 2 years -Reviews- Name: Kirk R. Sanders Date: 2016-04-11 19:06:31 Title: The Bass Player Body: I will try not to be bias in this review of Kip S. I have know Kip all his life. I know where his heart and mind are always when we talk. Playing music is his passion and has been for years. He was in a choir for several years as a young boy and was very good at it. After he found out that his father played bass for a number of years back in the 80's, he was set on learning it and being very proficient on the bass. Over the years he has matured as that bass player. Yet he still is hungry to learn more. For him being a teacher is a great opportunity for him to grow more into music. Adding him to your line up of teachers was a good decision for your company. Just to give you something to chew on. I guess there was a reason why his mother and I named him Kip. His mother and I liked Kip Winger a lot back then. Thank you for reading my review.

Owing much to his upbringing in a musical family, Daniel continued his musical studies through private lessons and by playing in various ensembles including orchestras and worship groups. After high school, the decision was made to pursue his college degree in music performance ultimately earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in classical guitar performance and studio/jazz guitar performance respectively. Daniel's favorite thing about music is that it has always been a source of happiness and he takes great care to ensure that his student's efforts are directed towards acquiring the skills and tools they need to be able to play the music that they love. Daniel's studies in various instruments and across multiple styles and genres, afford him the ability to assist students in their musical journey whatever that may entail, be it reading music notation, exercising proper technique and form, or learning music theory. Formal Education: M.M. Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance B.M Classical Guitar Performance Performing Experience: I have been performing since a very young age. Before I was even a teenager I was playing the cello with the orchestra at the local community college as well as various recitals organized by my instructors. I played in the orchestra from elementary all the way through high school and then periodically from then on whenever they needed additional musicians. I also played the trumpet in the concert band at the same community college through junior high school and part of high school. While in junior high school, my brother and I began playing with our church's youth band and we did that up until I left the area for college. While pursuing my Bachelor's degree, I performed extensively through the school of music where I was studying classical guitar as well as professionally with various colleagues mostly with small jazz ensembles and occasionally big band gigs. I also performed classical music at the occasional wedding with my sister who was enrolled at the same school of music. After graduating I performed as much as possible in the southern california area with a group of friends and classmates doing mostly jazz standards. Then I relocated to Los Angeles for graduate studies and performed as much as possible through the school of music at USC. Upon graduating I have been working as a freelance musician ever since although the gigs dried up with covid and since then I have been mostly teaching and recording with my band. I love to perform and I believe it is the cherry on top of the already incredible experiences that simply playing music brings. Micah's Music Lessons (Piano)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Houston, TX

Years of Experience: 6 Location Options: In Studio, In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 30 Genres: Classical, Acoustic, Pop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult, Under 6 Years Instruments Taught: Keyboard and Piano Lessons Overview: ~~ My Experience: I?ve been playing the piano since I was six years old and currently teach elementary students, ages 8-12, within the Houston Independent School District. Over the years, I?ve had the joy of teaching students of all ages and skill levels, from children to young adults and adults, through one-on-one lessons focused on music theory, sight-reading, and piano technique. ~~ Music Introduction: My appreciation and love for music derived from my very unique upbringing as a child. Growing up in a very strict Vietnamese-American household, TV time was limited. But when I did get the chance, I?d always gravitate to Turner Classic Movies. I was captivated by the elegance of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany?s, the charm of Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music, and, of course, all the Shirley Temple films. These classic movies became my introduction to the world of music, and they sparked my lifelong love for both performing and listening. I was born in New Orleans, and my mom?an avid lover of live music?would take us around the Tulane campus, where the sounds of jazz were always in the air. The influence of great jazz artists like Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald helped shape my understanding and appreciation of music as something that transcends genres and connects us all on an emotional level. ~~ Why Piano: For me, the piano is more than just an instrument?it?s a way of learning to grow through challenges and connect with something greater than myself. During a particularly tough time in my childhood, playing the piano was one of the few ways I could soothe my emotions. It taught me how to stay present, embrace persistence, and understand that real success is earned through hard work and resilience. These lessons continue to guide me in life today, and they are what I strive to share with my students. ~~ What will you gain as my student: In my piano lessons, I aim to teach more than just how to play. You?ll learn how to develop focus, patience, and perseverance?skills that will stay with you both at the piano and beyond. I?ll guide you not only in mastering technique, but also in finding your unique voice through music, just as the great artists I admired growing up did. Whether you're playing a beautiful Chopin piece or a classic jazz tune, you'll be learning how to express yourself with confidence and joy. Performing Experience: Recitals, Public Piano Performing, Arts Music Festivals Experience Teaching: Current Piano Instructor in Houston Independent School District -Education- Degree: Civil Engineering

    Amy's Music Lessons (Vocal)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Humble, TX

Years of Experience: 10+ Location Options: In Studio, In Webcam Genres: Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country, Acoustic, Christian, Pop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult, Under 6 Years Instruments Taught: Vocal Lessons Overview: Amy Sha is an American Lyric Soprano, wife, mother, sister daughter who has a passion for singing and making music with her whole heart! From the time she was young, Amy, has been singing the songs in her heart to anyone who would listen. She feels called to share the gift of music to the world in a variety of capacities. A native to Houston, Texas, Amy has enjoyed studying and developing her love for singing within the rich soil of the musically diverse garden Houston has to offer. Singing with the Houston Children’s Chorus was the start of what would become a lifetime love of hers. From there, she joined Joyful Sound Homeschool Choir under the direction of Paula Spencer. It was here that Amy thrived as a musician and honed her singing skills as she later studied to compete in the TMEA All-State Choir competitions. She was thrilled to place in both the Treble and Mixed All-State Choir’s throughout her high school years. Committing herself to a 2-year period of service to the community following high school, Amy then decided to pursue her bachelor’s degree. Over the course of the following 2 years, she earned her BA in Music in May 2007 from Thomas Edison State in New Jersey thanks to an accelerated method of learning. It was during this time that her musical requirements were met while studying at the International Academy of Music in Indianapolis, Indiana, and in Chicago, Illinois under the experienced eye of Dr. M. Dean Kincaid. This ‘patchwork quilt’ way of earning a degree afforded her the opportunity to – when she was in Houston – continue studying with her voice teacher, Ms. Hannah Nelson-Lu (student of Dr. Stephen King), perform with CANTARE under the direction of Mr. Kevin R. Riehle, sing as an event vocalist for weddings and private parties, perform with the Rice Chorale of the Shepherd School of Music and the Rice Light Opera Society, teach clients through her private voice studio, and both train and act as a guest judge for student competing in TMEA and TPSMEA auditions, among other musically related engagements. More recently, she has been performing with Opera Leggera in Kingwood, Texas since 2012 and looks forward to auditioning for Houston grand Opera Chorus and various other musical theatre companies when time allows. Formal Education: Studied under Dr Stephen King of Rice University and HGO studio, Jud Perry, Hanna Nelson Lu Private Education: Being a member of the Junior League of Houston has presented me with the delightful opportunity of being a part of the yearly Charity Ball since 2008, which is made up entirely of volunteers and benefits numerous organizations across the city of Houston. Well known for his musical prowess, Houstonian Bill Bartlett has been directing these shows for over 30 years. Aside from singing, I find interest in a great many things including being a mom to the most AMAZING kids in the world, living life with my best friend and fellow Salsa instructor (my husband, Richard), Salsa dancing (and instructing), traveling, photography, composing, nutrition, studying Spanish, culture emersion, fine coffee and teas, volunteering with various organizations involving women and children, leading a Bible study, reading compelling works of fiction and non-fiction, and spending quality time with family and friends. Performing Experience: I am always looking forward to auditioning with various performing societies in and around the Houston area as well as continue teaching students and singing for weddings and other lsquo;delightful opportunitiesrsquo; that come my way. As a young artist, I desire to pursue my masterrsquo;s degree. An offer has been extended to me to attend the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. I am also exploring other opportunities to study closer to home, all in hopes of developing an even deeper understanding and appreciation for the vast world of musichellip; and then in turn, sharing this with the world. Experience Teaching: I am a member of TMEA (Texas music educators Association) and have judged competitive vocal competitions as well as prepared students for college auditions as well as various performing companies auditions across the Houston area. Irsquo;ve been coaching privately since receicing my bachelors in Music-Vocal Performance In 2007. -Education- Degree: Music - Vocal Performance School: Thomas Edisson State Dates: 2005-2007 -Reviews- Name: Date: 2016-04-13 22:14:36 Title: Review from Celia Razo Body: I love it! Orlando, FL

Years of Experience: 10 Location Options: In Studio Travel Radius: 25 Genres: Rock, Acoustic Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: Hello! I have been playing guitar, performing, and writing songs for about 17 years now. I am very patient and recognize that every student is different. I want to help you learn at your own pace! My job is to give you the tools to create your own music or to learn the songs that you wish to play. Formal Education: I attended the University of Central Florida, but only have studied music through private instruction and deep dedication to learning on my own, which I greatly encourage. Private Education: I studied with a private instructor, Bill Stryker for about 3 years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He taught me the foundations of music, tablature, notes, chords, and the tools necessary to get to where I am today! Though I don't know how to read notated sheet music, I have learned to play by feel and by truly listening. I want to teach this method to others because it has served me well! Performing Experience: I have performed in a few different bands, mostly when I was a bit younger. I have played many venues in Fort Lauderale, Florida, including the Culture Room, a well-known venue that hosts many national acts. I have also played in a few smaller venues and coffee shops in Orlando, Florida, my current home. Experience Teaching: I have taught a few friends and family members to play! All of them were productive and positive interactions. What I may lack in experience, I make up for in patience and the ability to teach in an interactive fashion, as opposed to reading out of a book.

My name is Alonzo. I’ve been a musician since I got my first guitar at 11. My favorite band is The Mars Volta. I’m an excellent bassist and guitar player. I have a few synthesizers I play, but I wouldn’t say my piano skills are worthy of teaching. I have my own band I’m getting up and running and I’m going to school for music production. I’ve been finding frustration working off jobs while going to school but it never hit me to work in music until this week. I’ve taught guitar before when I was stationed overseas in Japan. The MWR offered free guitar lessons to service members and their families and I volunteered to host it. I had classes of anywhere from 3-7 people twice a week in person.
