Robert's Music Lessons (Guitar, Song Writing)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Plano, TX

Years of Experience: 3 Location Options: In Home Travel Radius: 20 Genres: Rock, Blues, Classical, Country, Acoustic Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: I'm a young guy, but music is my passion and my life. I've been playing guitar since I was 11, and haven't found anything else that I enjoy half as much. My goal as a teacher is to share that enjoyment with my students, and help them to reach their fullest potential as musicians. As a rule, I do not confine myself or my students to any particular curriculum; every student has different needs, and I find I can best meet them by tailoring lessons to suit. Formal Education: Starting at 15 I attended the Dual-Credit Program at Richland College, where I took Classical guitar lessons from Jan Ryberg as well as Music Theory from Dr. Jerry Wallace. I completed about two years of guitar lessons, and one year of Theory. Private Education: I've taken lessons from a few different instructors over the years, but I'm primarily self-taught. Performing Experience: While at Richland I was involved with the Guitar Ensemble, where I played first chair and helped to win first place at the Brownsville Guitar Competition. I've also played off and on with various other groups, including Kaleo Kaualoku and the Good Times Band (now known as Spooky Fok) and Fictional Freedom, as well as composing my own original material. Experience Teaching: I've been teaching semi-professionally for about three years now, starting with helping out other students at Richland. After I left school I continued to teach privately in my spare time, and have enjoyed every moment of it.
