Matthew's Music Lessons (Drum)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Fort Worth, TX
Years of Experience: 7 Location Options: In Studio Genres: Rock Age Groups: Children Instruments Taught: Drum Lessons Overview: My name is Matt, I've been playing music as far back as I can remember. It's always been a therapeutic and refreshing activity for me and I think its a positive thing both mentally and physically for anyone. I'd see myself more as guide then a teacher for helping that person discover how music can help them, because I think the greatest thing about playing music is that self discovery. Private Education: I had a piano teacher in elementary and a guitar teacher in middle school. I soon discovered percusion was more my thing and since then I've had several private drum lessons from a couple different people but I am mostly self taught. Performing Experience: I've played in two bands since I turned 20, I've played at many venues across the DFW and surrounding areas.

Jay's Music Lessons (Guitar)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Fort Worth, TX
Years of Experience: 20 Location Options: In Studio, In Home Travel Radius: 20 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country, Acoustic Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Bass Guitar Lessons Overview: I have been a professional musician for many year and as I get older I find that I enjoy teaching more and more... I have found ways to communicate to new students how musicians think about music and then give students the tools to work out the music that they want to play without nearly as much memorization as has traditionally been taught. Many of my students comment that they use more applied math in my lessons than anywhere else. I like to think that I am a MUSIC teacher. My job is not to teach a student to play songs. My job is to teach students how to develop and express the music that's inside of them. The music only they can make In addition to regular lessons, I shedule a monthly Jam Session in which the student gets to use what the've been learning in fun ways and gets to experience what its like to play with other musicians. I restring and perform maintance on the instument with the student at this time also. Formal Education: University of North Texas Music Performance major with instruction in piano, classical guitar, vibraphone, bass. Cedar Valley College music performance with instruction in piano, extensive ear training, and recording technology Private Education: 7 years of private piano and music theory instruction Performing Experience: I began traveling and performing professionally with several well known gospel artists in the 80's and 90's. I left that gig to go study music and UNT and began working for a couple of studios in Dallas to put myself through school. Eventually, I dropped out of school and decided to bring much needed Rock N Roll to Eastern Europe, forming a Belarusian band and touring there. Since then I've earned another degree in anthropology, with emphasis on ethno-musicology (the music of different people). I now frequently perform at cultural events and meet other musicians to exchange ideas everywhere I travel. Experience Teaching: My teaching experience begins as a lecturer in anthropology for a few years. this is where I got the passion to teach. Since then I've taught numerous students how to make the music that makes them happy.

Andrew's Music Lessons (Guitar, Bass Guitar, Song Writing, Vocal)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Fort Worth, TX
Years of Experience: 15 Location Options: In Studio, In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 11 Genres: Rock, Blues, Country, Acoustic, Christian, RB, Gospel, Pop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Bass Guitar Lessons,Vocal Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: Hi, my name is Andrew and music has been a big part of my life since I was very young. I have a wide variety of music genres I enjoy and find interesting and am pretty open to different styles. I have over 15 years of experience in learning and playing musical instruments and fine-tuning my vocals. I play a variety of instruments including: Acoustic Guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, mandolin, and ukulele. I have been playing the guitar, the instrument I'm most proficient in, since 2004. I started out on the electric guitar learning a variety of Rock styles, and then progressed with the acoustic guitar in other styles. My early influences were: Journey, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Kansas, Styx, E.L.O., Reliant K, and a lot of other Classic Rock and Alternative bands. Most of my later and current influences are Christian bands like Newsboys, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Leeland, Crowder, Keith Green, MercyMe, Rend Collective, Switchfoot, and many others. I'm not opposed to teaching secular music as long as it's appropriate. I've trained and developed my vocals over many years and have made great progress in my own methods. Most of my training has been self-taught, but I have had some formal training in different courses. I have written and composed some of my own songs and understand the structure of songs. I have played on and led several different worship teams over the years at churches I've attended and participated in. I taught myself to play guitar and sing together, so I can assist you with learning that as well. I can also advise you in accessory and instrument choices. Although my teaching methods are not typical and entirely formal, I have seen quicker progress in students who have learned my way. I prefer to personalize and tailor my lessons to meet the student's preferred genres of music and interests of styles. I am flexible in my teaching and can teach more formally if preferred. I am pretty laid back and easy going. I want my students to have fun and enjoy themselves. I want you to have choice in your songs, because you are far more likely to want to continue to learn and progress than give up if you're enjoying yourself. If you have the patience and determination to learn and improve, then you will. So thank you for considering me, and I look forward to getting to know you and seeing you grow in your skills as a Musician. Let's have some fun! Formal Education: 1 semester of Guitar Class, 2 Semesters of College Jazz Band, 1 Semester of College Piano Class Private Education: Mostly self-taught. Guitar-15 years, Bass Guitar 4 years, Improvisational Piano-12 years, Ukulele-1 year, Mandolin-5 years, violin-1 year Performing Experience: Jazz Band-2 Semesters, Worship teams-14 years Experience Teaching: I have taught friends and family over the past 14 years, but I have not taught professionally until now. -Education- Degree: Associates of Art School: Barton County College Dates: 2017-05
