At the Studio we're lucky to have ceramic artists eager to share their craft with your kids. This week-long camp will focus on a mixture of hand building and wheel throwing. We will create a variety of bowls, plates, cups, vases, and more while experimenting with surface design and glazes.

Do you love animals and making things with your hands? In this one-week needle felting workshop, you’ll turn fluffy wool into adorable animal friends using special felting needles and lots of imagination! You’ll learn the basics of needle felting, including how to shape, layer, and attach wool to build animals step by step. From tiny ears and tails to spots, stripes, and expressions, you’ll add personality and detail to bring your creatures to life. You can create a real animal or invent one of your own! Throughout the week, you’ll practice patience, focus, and craftsmanship while working safely with special tools and plenty of guidance. By the end of the week, you’ll have one or more soft, sculpted animal friends to take home and show off. This workshop is perfect if you enjoy animals, soft materials, and creating small sculptures with big character!

This week, we’re diving into the colorful and creative world of mosaics. Young artists will learn how mosaics are traditionally assembled using small tiles made from materials like glass, stone, and ceramics—often square in shape, but sometimes round or irregular for added visual interest. Inspired by these techniques, kids will design and create their own unique mosaic artworks using pieces of broken pottery, china, glass, buttons, figurines, and even jewelry! By arranging and cementing these fun found objects onto a sturdy base, artists will transform scraps into colorful, textured masterpieces—boosting creativity, problem-solving, and artistic confidence along the way.

Step into a magical kingdom where creativity reigns! This week, you’ll enter a world of magic, castles, and enchanted forests! You’ll let your imagination run wild as you: Build castles and fairy gardens using cardboard, clay, natural materials, and colorful decorations. - Craft fairy wands, magic potion bottles, and other magical tools to spark your own stories. - Design crowns, tiaras, or royal costumes to bring your favorite fairy tale characters to life. - Tell and act out your own fairy tales, sharing adventures with your friends in a magical kingdom you’ve helped create. Every day is filled with hands-on, imaginative projects, from sculpting and decorating to painting, crafting, and storytelling. By the end of the week, you’ll have your very own collection of magical creations to take home—and memories of a whimsical kingdom you helped bring to life! This workshop is perfect if you love magic, storytelling, building, and creating—and want to spend a week exploring a world where anything is possible.

Here at the Studio we're stockpiled with art supplies that give young children the chance to explore a variety of topics and activities. Our art projects will reinforce emerging skills as we work on letters, numbers, line, shape, texture, color, fine motor skills, and creative expression. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days. While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.
