Have you ever dreamed of building your own house, school, or even a fire station? Do you love animals? In this hands-on week, you’ll bring your ideas to life using cardboard and imagination to create BOTH! Throughout the week, you’ll explore the design process—from planning and problem-solving to building and improving your structure. You’ll design and construct a cardboard building inspired by a real-life place of your choice, adding recognizable details like doors, windows, roofs, and textures. You’ll experiment with depth, structure, and craftsmanship to make your building sturdy, detailed, and unique. After you paint and finish your building, you will work together with others to place it in a purpose-built Studio on the Common neighborhood, seeing how your creation fits into a shared community. But that’s not all! You will also work on creating your own animal using all the same skills. This class is perfect if you love building, creating, and imagining the world around you—no prior experience needed, just curiosity and creativity!

Our most popular summer program returns for Summer 2026: Art Lab! Does your child love to engage in the process of art making and experiment with new things? If so, Art Lab! is the week for them. This week will be chock full of exploration of art materials and may include things like making fizz art using baking soda, salt resist painting, kaleidoscope making, paper marbling with shaving cream and more! It's sure to delight the adventurous artist!

Ready to level up your drawing skills and have a blast doing it? Join us for a full week of drawing adventures! You’ll get your hands on tons of cool supplies—markers, pencils, pastels, and more—and learn how to turn ideas into awesome artwork. Each day brings something new: - Sketch realistic portraits - Draw what you see (out in nature!) - Create your own original characters - Try fun techniques and discover new favorite tools - And more! By the end of the week, you’ll head home with a stack of drawings you’ll be proud of—and the skills to keep creating long after summer is over.

Does your child love books and storytelling? This week, we'll be using children's stories to inspire our artwork. With a different book each day, kids will create art that explores the connection between books, storytelling, and art. As they unleash their imagination and create their own unique interpretations and artwork, projects might include a mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and more!

Let’s build a city… and put on a puppet show! This week, you’ll work together to build a mini city filled with fun places like pizza shops, parks, fire stations, and museums. Everyone will help plan the city and build their own part, using cardboard, blocks, and art materials. You’ll also make simple puppets—people, animals, or silly characters—who live in the city. Your puppets will have jobs, homes, and stories to tell! Once the city is built, it’s time to play and pretend. You’ll use your puppets to act out stories like helping a neighbor, visiting the park, or going to the pizza shop. There’s no script—just imagination and teamwork. At the end of the week, you’ll share your city and perform a short puppet show for families, then take home your puppets and your own buildings. This week is all about building, pretending, working together, and making new friends while having lots of fun!

Get ready to draw, glue, and yarn-ify your art! This week, kids will explore two exciting art traditions from Mexico: Huichol yarn painting and Talavera tile design. Huichol artists create textured pictures using bright yarn, while Talavera tiles are known for bold colors, repeating patterns, and mirror-image designs. You’ll combine these ideas to design your own Yarn Painting Talavera, using symbols, colors, and patterns that show who you are—animals, sports, nature, family traditions, and more. You’ll also learn to weave on a wooden loom, creating colorful textile pieces while practicing over-under patterns and adding fun details like beads, pom-poms, and yarn textures. This hands-on, project-based week is full of color, creativity, and self-expression. You’ll head home with unique artwork that’s truly one of a kind—just like you!

Back by popular demand! Is your child an artist who loves to build, construct, and sculpt? This week, we'll be making 3D art projects that might include dioramas, model magic, string art, found objects, recycled materials, paper mache, and more!

This class is for beginning - intermediate level students. Beginning students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including centering and opening to create bowls, cups and plates as well as how to trim and glaze their pieces before the final firing. Intermediate level students will be encouraged to take on projects that expand their skills while exploring individual creativity in clay. Projects may include working with larger pieces, more complex forms, creating sets, and experimenting with surface design. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period.

You’ll learn a variety of printmaking techniques, such as relief printing, texture prints, and simple monotype processes. Using safe, kid-friendly tools and materials, you’ll carve, roll, press, and pull your own prints while discovering how artists use repetition, layering, and color to create exciting designs. Each day, you’ll experiment with new methods and build your skills while creating original artwork. By the end of the week, you’ll have a collection of prints to take home and share—plus a deeper understanding of how artists turn one idea into many works of art. This workshop is perfect if you enjoy hands-on art, trying new techniques, and getting a little inky while you create!

Get ready to blast off on a super fun space adventure! This week, you’ll travel far beyond Earth and into outer space using your imagination and creativity. Young artists will explore the stars as they create bright, glowing galaxy paintings, experiment with cosmic colors, and learn fun techniques to make space really shine. You’ll also build your very own cardboard rocket ships, designing them with windows, fins, and special details for imaginary space missions. Along the way, you’ll create silly alien masks and other space-themed crafts, inventing friendly (or funny!) creatures from faraway planets. Each day is filled with hands-on art projects, creative play, and storytelling as we imagine life in outer space. By the end of the week, you’ll have a collection of out-of-this-world artwork to take home—and memories from an exciting creative journey through the cosmos. Perfect for kids who love planets, rockets, aliens, and big adventures in space!

Does your child love to paint? If so, this is a great program to practice and learn new skills. Your artist will practice using watercolor and acrylic paint. Some of the skills we'll focus on include color theory, composition, and painting from observation - all while creating a gallery of art. Expand your skills in this painting week where you can let the sky be the limit as you explore different styles of painting, including abstraction, impressionism, and pop art . Kids will get creative and let their ideas abound! This week is for those kids who say that their favorite color is all the colors in the rainbow! This week we will focus on making colorful projects that will sure to put a smile on your face! Each day will feature super fun art projects including drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! In this action-packed, week-long class, students will design characters, build exciting worlds, and learn how pictures and words work together to tell a story. Then it’s time to unleash the fun—plan wild plots and tell the crazy adventures your characters go on in your very own comic book. By the end of the week, each student will have an original comic to share and show off!

This class is open to beginning students who have never used a wheel as well as students with prior wheel throwing experience, looking to advance their skills. First time students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including centering and pulling walls to create bowls, cups and plates as well as how to trim and glaze pieces before the final firing. Experienced students will take their work to the next level: adding attachments like handles and spouts and carving and sculpting texture. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period. Course fee includes access to tools, clay, and glazes.

This week, we’re diving into the colorful and creative world of mosaics. Young artists will learn how mosaics are traditionally assembled using small tiles made from materials like glass, stone, and ceramics—often square in shape, but sometimes round or irregular for added visual interest. Inspired by these techniques, kids will design and create their own unique mosaic artworks using pieces of broken pottery, china, glass, buttons, figurines, and even jewelry! By arranging and cementing these fun found objects onto a sturdy base, artists will transform scraps into colorful, textured masterpieces—boosting creativity, problem-solving, and artistic confidence along the way.
