***This course is ONLY for Grades K-1** Art-n-Orbit is a unique art and science program that focuses on children’s creative spirit while they learn the fundamentals of art and science. Students will make their own exploding volcanoes, explore the universe, conduct fun science experiments, create spinning robots that zoom across the floor, and much much more. Every class is a hands-on, engaging, and educational adventure for boys and girls alike. Best of all, each week the children will leave class with their own tailor-made projects to show family and friends. Beginning knitters will learn the basic skills of this enjoyable fiber craft: casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch and casting off. In addition, students will be exposed to and learn how to identify different fibers and how to read the language of knitting in patterns. Project will be based on skills acquired in the class. No previous experience is required. Students are expected to bring class materials every class day (provided by teacher). Students are also expected to knit at home between classes. More knitting means more project options. We promise to teach you as many real songs as possible! This class is a great introduction for students who might then proceed to a private teacher. We will get your hands picking, strumming, and fretting. An electric or acoustic guitar is okay (no amplifier required). We'll also learn some geography and be immersed in cultural experiences, including singing, dancing, storytelling, crafts and games. Italian class for first graders would be lively and interactive, introducing basic Italian language and culture in a way that feels like a fun adventure. We'll also learn about landmarks, foods, and basic vocabulary words. Students will engage in greetings, simple songs, and hand motions to make the words come alive. Over eight weeks, students explore mindfulness through simple movement, breathing exercises, yoga-inspired activities, focus games, and creative reflection. Each session follows a predictable, kid-friendly structure: a calm start, warm-up movement, main activity, quiet reflection or drawing, and a closing routine. Weekly themes include mindful breathing, animal movements, balance challenges, yoga stories, sound awareness, and student-made calming strategies.
