She is the daughter of a veteran Piano teacher holding the position of one of the top piano teachers in the Tampa Bay area. With both of her parents being vocalists, and her mother being a gifted pianist, music was a central part of her life. Being introduced to music at that tender age, she began performing and competing by elementary school. In 4th grade she began learning flute. Flute captured her heart, and she followed it all the way to college where she studied under Dr. Kim McCormic at the University of South Florida. Along the way, she sat as principal flautist for the Tampa Bay Youth Orchestra where she was coached by members of the Florida Orchestra, and played with the Florida Orchestra as a soloist. She was a straight superior earner in solo competitions, and has played for weddings. She also played as a guest musician with the University of Tampa's music department band. At 16 years of age she began creating her studio and entered the world of teaching music. She teaches both flute and piano, and her students have all competed successfully. For the last 14.5 years she has been a military wife and has taught privately. Now in Oklahoma, she is re-opening her studio, and accepting students of all age groups. She has taught beginner piano to early learners, whom I did not have space for in my studio at the time, preparing them for me to take on as the got beyond the early intermediate stage. However, flute and bassoon are her primary instruments, and most of her teaching experience has been with flute.
