I am originally from Kingston, NY. I started middle school in St. Petersburg Fl, and after high school, moved to Tampa to start my undergraduate career in music. I now currently play and teach music for a living and I love every second of it. Formal Education: I obtained my International Baccalaureate (IB) and also my High School diploma from St. Petersburg High School (St. Petersburg). I am now attending the University of South Florida and I am a student in music performance at the School of Music. I will be graduating in May of 2015. Private Education: I used to study music (tuba) privately with a previous graduate assistant at the School of Music at USF. Now I study privately with Jay Hunsberger, the Principal Tubist in the Sarasota Orchestra, whom is also the teacher of tuba/euphonium at USF. I have also taken lessons and attended masterclasses by various professionals in the "classical" music world. Performing Experience: I have consistently been placed by audition (3 semesters) into the USF Symphony Orchestra, which is the highest non-jazz ensemble at USF. I have also-and continue to-perform with the USF Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, USF 'Big Band' (Top jazz group), USF Trombone Octet, USF Wind Ensemble, USF Symphonic band, and others. I have also performed with the Florida Wind Band, directed by Dr. John. C Carmichael. I have been principal tubist with the South Shore Symphony Orchestra, and Assistant Principal tubist with The First Brass of Sarasota. I currently perform at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island (Sousaphone and Percussion) and I am also the tubist of the brass band, Drum'n'Brass. I have performed multiple freelance gigs with members of the Florida Orchestra, and the Sarasota Orchestra, among others. Experience Teaching: I began teaching students privately in Spring of 2012. I now maintain 15-20 private students at a time ranging from 3rd grade to college graduate. I have also taught multiple Band Camps for schools including Brandon High School (Brandon, Fl), Rampello Middle School (Tampa, Fl) and St. Petersburg High School (St. Petersburg, Fl). I have also given masterclasses at Lakewood Ranch High School (Sarasota, Fl), Bloomingdale High School (Valrico, Fl) and Roland Park Middle School (Tampa, Fl).
