I am a Berklee College of Music graduate and actively perform in Austin's music scene through multiple genres. My musical influences include Myles Kennedy, Guthrie Govan, Joe Satriani, Slash, Steve Vai, John Mayer, Jabari Johnson, Mateus Asato, and many more. Because I enjoy performing in multiple genres such as Rock, Blues, Pop, Country, and Gospel; I encourage my students to expand their musical tastes so that I can teach fundamentals while also providing information about their preferred genre. My goal with each of my students is to ensure that each walks away with a bit more of an understanding of what they'd like to accomplish in their music endeavors and how to implement those steps. And like, songs with chords and stuff, not just a couple of notes! Blake is great. He is easy to talk to, supportive when it's clear I need the support, and is incredibly patient when it's clear I need some patience. It's very evident that he is an extremely knowledgeable and gifted musician, which means I could take lessons from him for years and still learn something every time. Another thing I appreciate about Blake... he asks what my goals are and what I want to learn, and then tailors the lessons to my specific goals. I just wish I would have started lessons 15 years ago when I first thought about it.
