Since then, she has tried clarinet, oboe, flute, piccolo, french horn, marching cymbals, violin and —most recently— theremin. Though she has experience with all these instruments, her strongest by far is the oboe, which she studied at West Chester University of PA. She has a degree in music composition as well as a degree in English. Marlene was honored to be awarded third place in the American Prize for Composition, student division, in the 2 competition season and was the only undergraduate student to medal.
