I have been a student of music for 16 years. I started on trumpet, picked up the french horn a few years later, and went on to graduate with a degree in music education, with a focus in instrumental music in 2013. I've taught private lessons on and off since 2010, and I have taught music in the classroom since 2015. My teaching style can best be described as energetic and patient. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe that every student has the potential to do extraordinarythings, and I am the kind of teacher who will do whatever it takes to get them there, as long as they are willing to put in the work. In my lessons, you can expect to learn music theory as well as how to improve on their instrument. I like to tell my students to practice what they struggle with, not what they are good at. You'd be surprised how many students only practice what they can already play well! They don't like to struggle, but the reward at the end of the struggle is so worth it! My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students accomplish something that they didn't think was possible. I primarily teach brass instruments, but I can also teach beginning clarinet and saxophone. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
