Certified Care Provider/ Aging/Dementia/Alzheimer/Mobility

Avg response < 14 hrs
For last few years, I had the privilege of assisting many wonderful people that entrusted me with providing them with personal care, companionship, comfort , medication monitoring/administering, dietary needs, mobility challenges , Dr appointments (Alzheimer's, Dementia, Cancer, Mobility Ageing, DD, Hospice)My personal experience as my beloved mother's caregiver, greatly influenced me to embrace Health Care as a profession, which I truly love and enjoy. Prior to her demise has been incredibly hard on both of us, she was not only suffering from Alzheimer/dementia, but was completely immobile. It allowed me to understand how challenging and difficult the lifestyle changes can be, not only for the person needing assistance, but also the family with a loved one in need of constant or, partial care. I provide each person with outstanding care with :compassion, kindness, patience, dependability, punctuality, encouragement and respect based on their individual needs and preferences.

Elena has truly been an angel for our family. I am in awe of her ability to connect emotionally with both of my parents. Elena jumped in and helped our family at a time in need -she cared for both my mom and dad though for a very short time (because our needs changed). My dad, who has early stages of dementia, doesn't trust anyone and didn't want anyone coming into the house- Elena won him over the first time she met him. Elena truly has a gift and was able to identify and to meet the needs of both my parents (and they have very different needs) almost immediately. Elena is also incredibly organized and operates with a high level of professionalism. She sought out and shared community resources that she felt would benefit our family- she has a lot of experience and went above and beyond helping my family sort out details of my parents needs. I could envision her being part of our family for a long time but our situation changed unfortunately.

Part And Full Time Caregiver Available

Avg response < 22 hrs
After coming home from the mission field in 2012, I began caregiving but it's more like a ministry to me to be able to love people for Jesus. I have references from the families of those I've cared for. I like to make people smile and laugh, it brings quality to a persons life. So often, fear sets in with illness, especially dementia. The best way to handle it is to reassure the person that they are in good hands and that I'm there for them. Surrounding oneself in family pictures of the past always helps for anyone suffering from loss of memory, for the way Alzheimer's was explained to me was that our lives are like a tree~the earlier days the trunk and the later days the branches, it was said that it was like someone pruning the branches and so the person reverts back into the trunk. Memories of this time seem to bring happiness, music and such sure helps. Helping people in this takes a person who is willing to focus and devote themselves to the one in need.

Teresa was an amazing caregiver to my father who had Alzheimer's. She provided live-in care for him in a way that made him feel independent and respected. She really understood him and his needs and worked very hard to make every day a good one for him. I can personally say that knowing she was taking care of my dad, made every day easier for me and my family. We will always be grateful for her patience, grace and love.
