We hired Maria (Fannie) full time for our daughter, age 2 to 7 months. We only did not continue because we had already had an au pair set to arrive. But Fannie still helps us out and it's not just our daughter, but us, who light up when we see her. Fannie is creative, enthusiastic, tireless, and truly loves children. She is never late. We never have to ask for anything twice. She takes initiative with baby laundry, prepping meals, etc. She is observant, calm, shows appropriate concern, and is never fazed. She works on developing skills like reading, talking, rolling, sitting, and crawling rather than just playing. It can be hard to tell an ok nanny from a truly great one until you've been fortunate enough to find a great one and Fannie is it. She genuinely cares for our daughter and does not make this feel like just a job. If we ever needed it, she is the only person we would leave our daughter with for weeks without worry. Your family will be so lucky to have Fannie in your lives.

Infant And Toddler Babysitter Available

I am happy to come and meet you and your children beforehand to see if a good fit. I know how difficult it is to leave your child with a caregiver, especially before they are old enough to report back to you about their experience! My children are 23, 20 and 15, and I still remember making the extensive babysitter emergency checklist (even ordered notepads for the info) until we developed rapport with sitter. I recently had a full background check done through the Criminal Justice Information Services Division of the VA State Police (6/23/17),. This was done for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program I am attending (3 semesters done, 2 to go). Previously, I was a Gymboree teacher and manager for 19 years, so interacting with infants and toddlers is my niche. I am creative, playful and kind. I currently babysit on a regular basis for about six families, but during the summer, I have less homework and more time, so trying to make new connections.

We hired Laurie for a half day to watch our 11 month old, and were so happy with the experience. We were not sure how our baby would handle the time with a nanny, since she is definitely a COVID baby, but she was happy the whole time she was with Laurie. Laurie was super friendly, clearly comfortable and competent with little ones, and kept our baby happy and entertained and even successfully put her down for her afternoon nap, which is a mighty feat! She also went above and beyond during our baby's nap and did some light house cleaning so I returned home from work with the dishwasher full, the toys organized, and things looking better than when I left! Highly recommend!

Hello parents and guardians!

My name is Shannon. I am originally from the GREAT state of Minnesota born and raised. I live in Fairfax close to Chantilly High School. I have worked as a nanny, daycare centers, and also home childcare. I have 20+ years working with children from new born to elementary children.
**I have received both of my PFIZER vaccine doses and would love to start caring for a few children in my home come August.
I can't think of a job more rewarding then caring for children that bring so much joy and happiness.
I love taking the children to the local Library, getting ice cream, playing outside running, soccer, catch, freeze tag, side walk chalk, basketball these are always so much fun for me as I am the mother of 2 well rounded teen boys. Also another one of my favorites is baking with the kiddos as my 2 boys have also at a young age have gotten involved with helping me bake cookies, cakes, brownies, pies, cupcakes, and have become masters at doing so.

I provided all homemade healthy nutritional meals along with milk/juices and snacks,
I engage with a variety of activities such as reading, writing, arts and crafts, coloring, singing, games, puzzles and playing outside.

I cared for twin boys that started in my care at the age of 3 months and stayed with me until 6 years of age. They alone with my other families are still a huge part of my families. I am CPR and First aide Certified. I have outstanding references and reviews on care.com
