I am looking for a caregiver to start immediately to help out my mother & sister. My 27-year-old sister has cerebral palsy and is non-ambulatory, and my mom is her primary caregiver. My mom just broke her leg and will not be able to walk (or provide care) for several weeks to months. We are looking for someone to help mainly with my sister - with daily cares like toileting, bathing, dressing, etc. We are also looking for someone to help my mom with small things just so she stays off her feet. We are flexible with times & days, mainly looking for help in the morning and evening to get my sister in / out of bed. Even if your schedule would just allow for 1-2 hours in the morning and 1-2 hours in the evening a few days a week, this would be appreciated. We just need help as soon as possible!
Eventually we may also be looking for someone long-term as my mom is aging and won't be able to be a caregiver forever.
Fyi: My sister is able to use her upper body, so she can help with her own cares and with lifting. She weighs about 120 lbs however, so ideally we are looking for someone who has worked with non-ambulatory clients and is educated on safe lifting techniques - CNA experience would be great. She also has an electric wheelchair that can be used throughout the house, and the house has a ramp, so this makes for easier transfers. My sister is able to speak but difficult to understand so any experience with speech delays, speech therapy, or sign language would be great.
Additional needs include light housekeeping and being comfortable with pets. Family Age Groups: Adult, Senior. Diagnosis: Cognitive Disabilities, Mobility Challenges, Cerebral Palsy.
