Executive Director Bridget Oconnor is rarely present due to Covid medical issues, but no one acting in her place. When she does make it in, she hides in her office; poor relationships with staff and families. "Working from home" is not sufficient as a Executive Director. Staffing is always short according to those working with my family member. All staffing managers are relatively new to their jobs. Fountain square website has not been updated in years. "Our team" is incorrect: NO DON, Assisted Living Coordinator has been gone a year, NO Memory Care Coordinator, NO Terrace Club Coordinator, NO Dining Manager. The staff pictured are no longer there. The sales Directors have actually been there a while, so they must be bringing new people in. It seems sales is their only job as I do not see them helping around the place, or interacting meaningfully with elders. I can't say that I see this place needing 2 or 3 dedicated to sales-it's not a new building. I'd rather see that manpower going to visiting the residents and actually having time to engage with them. My family has been here for 5 years and in that time I have known 3 directors: Jackie, Melissa, and Bridget. Jackie was the best was very caring, passionate, and personal. Downhill since then. Jackie moved up, Melissa had good rapport with staff then moved away, Bridget came in 2019 and is just unsatisfactory. Many staff left due to her management style, sour personality, and still staff keep leaving. When will Sunrise get a clue? Why do we continue to have our family stay here? Well it's simple- Mom has friendships she's developed and doesn't want to leave. Equally she loves the staff and nurses that provide her much needed care. We have left numerous messages and calls to corporate and are just pacified regarding Bridget's direction. I hope someone actually takes this seriously and makes the needed changes. Sunrise needs a genuine, caring, passionate leader. Bridget just seems like she tells people what we want to hear, lazy, and tired. This is common thought from Sunrise families. I hate to think people will start to move out due to complacency or just wait to sue the establishment. I hope this is helpful to those that are looking for a place for their loved ones. This is the spirit I am writing this. Bottom line: if you are looking, pass over sunrise Fountain Square until their Executive Director is let go or shuffled elsewhere. Look at Arden, Terra Vista, Aspired to name a few. Newer buildings, better air, lower prices, stable staffing. Good luck!
