About

Philosophy
Wildflowers Childcare believes in creating a nurturing, enriching and child centered learning environment. I believe children's social-emotional, physical; cognitive and language development is best supported with a warm, responsive teacherwith open communication, in a play-based environment. I believe children learn with adult guidance, through play and by interacting positively with their environments and peers. Goals To provide a healthy, nurturing, and safe environment To accept, respect, and appreciate each child and family To provide age-appropriate materials and equipment that supports children's learning in a fun and interesting way To encourage the physical development of large motor skills through outdoor and indoor play as well as fine motor development through manipulative toys, blocks, and puzzles. To encourage creativity by offering experiences in music, art, and literature To encourage interest in language through games, stories, and conversation To partner with parents and family Curriculum Our curriculum is child centered, inclusive and play based. Curriculum themes change with the seasons and are primarily focused on children's interests and emerging skills. Engaging play, hands on and whole-body learning activities are created to build confidence in learning and in life. The family, community and social-emotional wellbeing are also curriculum fundamentals. Children will experience Waldorf practices daily with music, movement, art, cooking and time in nature. Care and learning will be fostered in responsive, respectful, consistent and warm interactions between the teacher and child. Children's learning, experiences and growth will be documented and shared with parents.Read more
