About the business
Twin Christian Learning Center, your "home away from home," is a safe and stimulating learning environment where children can feel comfortable playing, resting, eating, and learning. When you walk in or out of TCLC, we want you and your child to feel comfort, security, trust, and most of all LOVE. Our primary goal is to train children God's way.
Twin Christian Learning Center is a licensed home according to the rules and regulation of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. TCLC provides full-time care, drop-in care, after-school care, and summer care for children ranging in age from one month to 5-years-old.
Children will spend time outdoors when weather permits. They will be allowed to play in the rooms in my home that have been assigned to accommodate children's activities. The children will experience structured learning activities that are developmentally appropriate, stimulating and fun for them. Basic concepts (shapes, numbers, and alphabet) will be introduced and children will be able to learn through the use of manipulative materials, creative drama, music, art, and movement on an individual and small group basis. There are toys, books, resources, and equipment available for the children to use. Children will be mostly guided in developing appropriate social skills, communication skills, home living skills, and how to work independently and together.
TCLC offers a small group setting in order to maintain quality child care. In my opinion, children have approximately thirteen years of school to accomplish. The preparation I offer the children is to help them be familiar with what kindergarten has to offer. This is not a structural school such as a Montessori, private, or preschool. I believe children's play is their work and they learn according to their developmental stages. Therefore, I believe in-home childcare better meets their needs in the beginning stages of their lives.
