In addition to meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, medicine reminders, and other household chores, we also provide transportation to doctor appointments, haircuts, food shopping, etc. We monitor for safety, fall risks, showering, in the home. We do not use registries, our caregivers are employees of our company and they are bonded and insured. A thorough criminal background/department of motor vehicle check is also completed for each caregiver. Most have training to help people who have dementia. We work with the Long Island Alzheimer Association who comes to our office to train our caregivers. We have implemented a new dementia care program developed by nationally renowned dementia care expert Teepa Snow exclusively for Senior Helpers, The Senior Gems. Service can be from as little as four hours per day a few days per week right up to twenty four hour care. We are available for respite care transportation for doctor appointments. Service is non-contractual and may be discontinued at any time.
