Dear Care.Com Members,

I am Sheila Danner's, the owner of Danner Family In-Home Daycare, daughter. I regret to inform you that Sheila Danner passed away several months ago from a terminal illness. Danner Family In-Home Daycare has been closed and is no longer accepting new clients. Until we can get care.com to delete her account and profile, please refrain from contacting us.

I humbly apologize for the confusion and inconvenience. My mother loved her work and loved children. I'm sure she would have loved your child as well. I wish you all the luck and best in searching for a great caregiver for you child. Your child deserves it.

Best wishes, Lyn

My now six year old came to the Danner Home Daycare when she was 3 months old. We heard about Sheila through a referral from a friend and we haven't gone anywhere since! Our child was quickly welcomed in the the Danner "family" and treated with all the love and care we would not have gotten from a big daycare facility. Sheila is a kind, sweet, and funny lady who genuinely loves children and she works with you to create a special plan for your child. She has flexible hours and will even pick up your child from school or babysit over the weekend! When my child would throw a tantrum from separation anxiety in the morning, Sheila would quickly calm her with a game or toy and then call me an hour later to report on her condition. She welcomed us to call whenever we liked to check up on our daughter to make sure that everything was okay. When I picked up my child, Sheila would give me a detailed report on everything that happened that day.

Sheila will also watch your kid at a moment's notice. There were several times where I had an unexpected delay at work or an appointment and she would gladly keep my daughter longer or watch her on her "off" days. There was one instance where she kept my daughter overnight. My daughter was very excited to have a "sleepover" at Ms. Danner's house. That was a huge help many times.

Sheila is aided by her three youngest daughters who have grown up with the family business and are as equally capable in childcare as their mother. They are all very polite and friendly The oldest just graduated from college and helps her mother with all the administrative duties while the other two deal mostly with teaching and playing with the children.

Now that my daughter is in elementary school, we don't see Sheila as often, but we do make the occasional visit just to say hello. How many people can say that about their daycare providers?

Notes: Sheila does have pets (a dog, cat and birds) but they are kept confined and away from the children and everything is kept very neat and clean. She will sometimes let the older kids feed and take care of the dog and cat, but she keeps all her pets away from the children at all times.

I would definitely recommend you give this daycare a try!

EDIT: Whoops! posted my review on the wrong profile! Here it is again. XD
