I have 15 plus years experience in nanny/childcare/sitter/tutoring services. I am a crafty, creative person who always explores new ways to learn and explore my surroundings. I like to sing, dance and give back to my community. When I travel, I like tosee new places, visit entertainment parks, museums and read motivational books. For over 15 years, my passion for children has allowed me to nurture and serve many families across the nation. My journey has allowed me to work in single family homes, a military base, various church settings and a couple of daycare centers. I have worked as a sitter, lead teacher, tutor, mother's helper, live-in/live-out nanny, summer camp coordinator and after school teacher for school age children. I played the violin and cello from grade school through college, so music, arts and crafts are always incorporated into my age appropriate activities. I specialize in the following areas: evening/night care, postpartum care (mother/infant(s)/family), toddlers, potty training, teens, and mixed age groups, multiples, large families and tutoring (Math/Science/English). In the past, I bathed, dressed and groomed children. I also planned and organized, fun age appropriate lesson plans, indoor/outdoor activities and field trips to stimulate and promote exploration and development of the whole child. I have customized lessons and activities to include state required learning centers- music, colors, reading, blocks, alphabets, flashcards, dramatic play, science, art, writing, sand and water. I have used music, patting rhythms, singing and counting with instruments to teach new material. After a long day, the "bath, brush and book" ritual before bed has always been helpful before bedtime. I have planned, cooked and prepared healthy, balanced snacks and meals, according to guidelines. I have documented allergies and medications for each child and given daily, weekly and monthly updates on individual progress. I have encouraged families to design, prepare for and practice evacuations and procedures for medical emergencies and severe weather.
