BrightStar has given me the peace of mind that my parents are well taken care of. Christina provides them with amazing care, and is very patient with them. Since I am out of town this means a lot. Jim is also very good and keeping me posted as to any issues or concerns. I would recommend BrightStar Care to anyone who cannot be with family but want to make sure they are in good hands.

Recently, we went through a very difficult time as a result of my aged mother falling and cracking her pelvis. This was a completely new experience for all of us in the family, and we realized that we needed help to map out a plan. We were referred to Lisa Marie at Bright Star. She proved to be a knowledgeable and compassionate guide who readily and generously offered us timely and effective advice. We highly recommend Lisa Marie and Bright Star! This is a long overdue "Thank You" to Lisa Marie and Jim for their incredible passion for helping others. They have been looking after my husband for many months now, and are so incredibly helpful, courteous and knowledgable with all things regarding Home Health Care for a loved one. Their staff are very polite and competant, always showing up on time and available for any request, be it a Doctor's office visit, shopping, or just companionship.

Lisa Marie is just amazing, and she went above and beyond the call of duty a few weeks ago when my husband needed home nursing care as he was just released from the hospital, and on a FIrday afternoon at 4 PM, when most places are closed for the weekend, she made it all happen, and we now have the most amazing Nurse coming to check up on my husband several times a week.

We feel blessed to have found LIsa Marie and Jim, and the caregivers who are taking care of mu husband. If you or your family are in need of a company such as BrightStar, don't look any further. THey are the cream of the crop and we are forever grateful for all their help, from the registration process, medicare, to in home care. THank you so very much for always being there for us! You are the best!!!

I wanted to send you a note to thank you for all of the time and effort you put into helping my family. It is difficult when you have an aging parent and none of the siblings live close by. My father is going to be 88 and is extremely set in his ways.
With a recent fall, my sister and I decided to fly to Venice FL to survey the situation. My sister arrived first and was initially determined that he could not stay home alone anymore. However, there was no way my father was going to agree to that. I arrived on a Friday Morning and we agreed to see about in-home care. I called BrightStar and Lisa Marie knew we were on a time frame and went out of her way to help us. She came over and met us at home that Friday evening. We did interview a second company on Saturday but it was clear to us that BrightStar was our best option. Lisa Marie and her husband happened to be working in the office on Saturday so we delivered the paper work to them that afternoon. Lisa Marie came with her care staff on Monday morning to introduce her to our family. My sister and I were able to fly home on Monday with a better piece of mind.
Sadly, my father wasn't as cooperative with the arrangement after we left and didn't stick with plan. BrightStar was very understanding and always honored his and our wishes. And Lisa Marie still went out of her way to help with information about other (lifeline device and supplemental Medicare) services.
If you find yourself in a similar situation as we did, I highly recommend that you give BrightStar a call. They are a family owned and operated business that had a level of kindness and compassion that exceeded our expectation.

The owners of BrightStar Care Port Charlotte came to our family's rescue during a critical time of emergency with my grandparents. Not only were they able to get care in place right away on a Sunday afternoon (which is virtually impossible to do), the caregiver they sent performed above and beyond what we all expected. Their caregivers treat my grandparents with dignity, respect and with TLC. Now that BrightStar is there, my husband and I have complete peace of mind knowing that my grandparents are cared for and safe. I highly recommend them. They get a full 5 star review!!

"After my father had moved into an Assisted Living Facility, Gardens of Venice, it was discovered that he had lost his ability to swallow properly and was at risk of bacterial pneumonia due to silent aspiration. The decision was made to have a PEG tube put in place and that he would be fed via that device. After the tube was installed he went to a Skilled Nursing Facility for 8 weeks. During that time, we determined that once he was back at Gardens of Venice he would need to have someone come in to feed him via bolus and to crush his many medications and send them through the tube too. We did our research and settled on two firms. BrightStar Care of Venice and Port Charlotte was the one we chose. There were several reasons for this. First and primarily, was that the other firm sent out a salesperson. BrightStar sent their owner, a registered nurse, Lisa Marie Swiatkowski. She showed tremendous apathy right from the get go. She examined my father and spoke softly and kindly. It was her demeanor that was another reason for our choice of BrightStar as our provider. As with any situation that puts folks in close personal contact, early on we had a personnel issue. Nothing world shattering but Dad just didn't care personally for one of his nurses. He wanted a change and I contacted Lisa Marie. She completely understood the issue and rearranged the personnel and schedules. Once when we were visiting Dad just prior to his one o'clock feeding, Lisa Marie herself came to care for him because she encourages her employees to continue their educations and his regularly scheduled nurse had a test to take so Lisa Marie stepped in to take charge of the situation. As Dad's condition worsened we found ourselves in a position where we needed a personal caretaker for the overnight as he was starting to go on disoriented forays in the early morning hours and he was uncooperative with the facility's staff. Once more BrightStar had the resources to accommodate our needs. Once more we had to adjust the personnel but, as before, it was accomplished smoothly and quickly. I cannot commend Lisa Marie and her caring staff enough for the sensitive, personal care that they provided Dad in the last months of his life. I would strongly recommend BrightStar of Venice and Port Charlotte to anyone who finds themselves in need of private duty skilled nursing." Posted with David's permission.
