I'm offering summer daycare at my home in Long Grove, IL. I am a sophomore pre-med student at Northwestern University majoring in Neuroscience. I have decided to spend this summer hosting a children's day camp. I am certified in basic life support (BLS), first aid, asthma and inhaler protocol, as well as Epi-Pen protocol. I am also Red Cross certified in babysitting. My mother will be working from home in case of situations in need of an older adult. Days with more than 5 children will include my brother who is a senior at Stevenson High School and also a junior baseball coach with the Lake County Stars. Camp is limited to 10 children.Every day has the same structure but with different activities; we will swim, learn, do science experiments, cook, do crafts, and read! An afternoon snack will be provided. Camp is held Mon - Fri, rain or shine, 9am - 4pm. A waiver and medical information form will be sent for completion before camp start date. The price is $350/week per child. Before and after care available, on an as-needed basis, at $20/hour/child. Payment can be made in cash or check and is due on Mondays. Your child must be able to use the bathroom and change in and out of their bathing suit independently. It is preferable if your child knows how to swim; however, if your child cannot swim, you will need to provide a life vest and/or floaties. There are six cats and one dog in the home. Questions? Adults designated for pick-up must show a driver's license and sign check-out form. Temperatures will be taken daily upon arrival with an ear thermometer. Children with a temperature of 100.4 or above may not stay for camp. Children will be monitored to ensure they wash hands throughout the day. My philosophy is that it's not realistic for children to wear face coverings and stay 6 feet apart throughout the day. They will not be allowed to share food or drinks and will be discouraged from overt physical contact. Camp is offered starting June 8th and will be offered every week until the end of July.
