Hello! I have had over 6 years of experience in child care. I love and believe that kids should have active lives in order to have a healthy life. I have baby sat and nannied for one predominate family. They had 2 boys and we had so much fun. While i was in high school my responsibilities were minimal and was only asked to watch them for date nights. I went to Portland State University which was close to their home. They increased my duties to morning, after school and weekend care. I really enjoyed the increased time and responsibility and started making lesson plans for the week. We would go on nature hikes, parks (learned new active games), entertainment resturants, cafts and art projects and more. My most memorable experience was a nature hike and we found a catapillar and make a habbitat for it. They were able to watch it go through it's metamophisis. We actually learned it was a moth and not a butterfly. They loved it. I now have my own little babby who just turned 9 month. This was an amazing experience and love taking care of her. She would be with me if looking after your children. She is the most easy going and happy baby. But the best part about having my own child and also taking care of someone else's children is that I now know how much parents love them. I have been coaching sports for over 10 years and currently coach club volleyball and will be an assistant coach at Portland State University for volleyball this upcoming fall. I also have an appreciation for the arts. My mother is music teacher and I have gown up learning music and actively participating in it. I think music is a great learning tool and incorporate that into my daily activies.
