Brookdale Home Day Care

9 mi

1313 Langley Circle Naperville, IL

My state licensed day care home - Brookdale Home Day Care- provides a loving, nurturing and educational environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. After 12 years as a teacher and school administrator, I realized that the first years of learning are crucial and wanted to make these first steps to education count by bringing teaching out of the classroom and into a home environment. I care for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. My home is conveniently located near Route 59 Metra train station, PACE bus stops and I-88. I am Infant & Toddler CPR/AED/First Aid certified and an Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Professional Development System member and a participant in the Illinois Board of Education's "Child and Adult Care Food Program." For more about the great child care that we provide and special services (before & after school programs and beginner Spanish lessons), please visit our website or send us an email message.

Laura C. says "Our son is 22 months and we cannot be happier with the care he gets!! He is always happy there. I love that I get pictures and updates throughout the day....

Mulberry Farm Daycare

5.0(4)

7 mi

1N026 La Fox Rd Lafox, IL

Welcome to Mulberry Farm Daycare! We operate our daycare in my charming 120 yr old farm house. The daycare sits on a pretty 1.3 acre lot, where a canopy of tree's cover most of the yard. We are conveniently located next to La Fox train station, just west of the Millcreek Elementary School. We are also in close proximity to the Kaneland School District. My name is Shelley Ost and I run this small daycare from my home. I am a certified in home daycare provider and a 200 hr registered children's yoga teacher. I am British and I have been in the US for about sixteen years. Our daily schedule consists many things. We cover Kindergarten readiness preparation, such as practicing hand writing, using scissors, number/letter recognition etc. We also have unstructured play time which is essential for social and emotional development for school. We bake, paint, garden, dig in the mud, use the sand and water tables, and play many outside games so the children get a good amount of physical activity and fresh air. We gather the chicken eggs, look after the animals and have many teddy bear picnics. Arts and crafts are a favorite of the children and we love creating new things every day. We are a special little daycare. We have very small numbers of children here and we like to create a warm and nurturing atmosphere. The children become an extension of our family, and the families become our friends. We keep goats, chickens, ducks, two small dogs and a cat. The children help take care of the animals, and "farm life" is interwoven in to our daily schedule. Caring for the animals provides countless opportunities for the children to learn about life, nature, health etc. Being outside is very important to us, and we spend as much time out in nature as the weather allows. Due to a few of my daycare children starting preschool, I currently have two openings. These spots are available for children aged two and above. If you would like to schedule a tour, or talk to the parents of the children I watch, please let me know. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or if you are interested in taking one of these spots, they will go fast.

Sheri L. says "Miss Shelley is playful, patient, loving, attentive and very laid back. All of these qualities are a necessity for anyone who is going to be responsible...

I am 46 yrs. old and a mother of 4 children ranging in ages from 6 to 26. I am also a Registered Nurse. Since my youngest is now in school full-time, I've decided to return to the workforce full-time. Before nursing school, I was a nanny for several years. The last few years I've babysat for friends part-time and as needed and I loved it! I really enjoy nursing but I love watching children more, so I've decided to open up a daycare in my home. I believe in lots of love, learning and fun. Our day would include circle time, songs, reading/learning time, free play, crafts, meals/snacks etc. Space is limited as I believe in lots of individual attention. Part-time, full-time and before and after school care is available for all ages. Meals provided. Excellent references available.

I am DCFS licensed and a CPR/First Aid certified child care home. Does your child deserve the love and attention I can give? After having my own children in home day care and never feeling completely comfortable, I opened my home to families as a day care provider. I am an extension of your family. My house is a second home to your child. Your child will eventually feel as comfortable in my home as he is in yours. As a DFCS licensed home you can expect a completely safe, secure and monitored environment for your child. DCFS makes unannounced visits several times a year. They check everything! Not just the obvious outlet covers. They check my well water, inside toys, all my play equipment, even for dips in the yard a child could trip on. I believe you should never put your child in a home that is not licensed. I am continually educating myself in child development, special needs and nutrition. Now down to what's really important. I am a wife (19 happy years) and a mother of two. My home is located at the end of a dead end street, with a fenced in one acre yard, blocks from Anderson School. My favorite thing to do is see my day care family's children smile when they learn new things that they are capable of doing. There is no joy greater than seeing a child accomplish new things. I teach ABC's, numbers, shapes, colors, and always have a science project going. We keep busy with games, crafts, art, and hands on discovery. My daycare children do not want to go home at the end of the day. I love what I do.
