The development of basic math, language and reading skills as well as small and large motor skills are also an important part of the curriculum. Pre-Kindergarten 4 - must be 4 by September 1 The Pre-Kindergarten 4 Program provides a great opportunity for 4 year olds to prepare for a more formal structured kindergarten classroom setting. Pre-reading, pre-math and other developmentally appropriate skills will be taken to the next level. The program will allow the student additional time to become more developed socially and intellectually as well as obtain the self-confidence needed to encounter new challenges as the year progresses. Discovery: Every child in the program will have the opportunity to learn about the world around them in a developmentally appropriate way through various activities. We focus on the study of people: how people live toda, how they lived in the past, how they work, get along with others, solve problems, shape &amp; are shaped by their surroundings. In preschool, board games, learning centers or the challenges of riding on wheeled play equipment teach mapping skills. Children learn about time (history) from the daily predictable routines established -- the entrance routine, a story after snack, circle time or free play.
