Experienced, Qualified, Energetic, Loving, Compassionate Caregiver
I am a licensed physical therapist currently with a Parish School system. I am from Breaux Bridge but have moved around a bit, most recently living in New Orleans where I was practicing in various pediatric settings. I returned to PT last year only when my last family moved and God had not put the right family in my path yet. My true passion is caring for children, especially those with special needs, in their natural environment. I am anxious to return to a full-time nanny position.
My last family was a family with five children including 3-year-old triplets, with developmental delay and sensory processing disorder. Along with caring for the children, I provided other support for the family, including household management, errands, meals, homework after school activities and evening/weekend activities. I also educated and trained the family on therapeutic principles while providing therapy supportive services to the 3-year-olds.
Prior to this, I provided daily caregiver services for another 3-year-old boy. He remains a part of my life, spending some nights and weekends with me. I also continue to consult with his mother, regarding care for her husband/his father who receives full-time care due a brain injury.
As a result of my medical education and experience, I have the knowledge and skills to provide safe, adequate and dependable care to children and respond to all situations calmly, effectively and appropriately. Through God, I am blessed with the ability to provide care and discipline with patience, tolerance, love, tenderness, compassion, and empathy. I believe every child has has a unique set gifts to be offered, lessons to be taught and love to give and I believe God has a special person for each child that enables his/her gifts to shine and imagination to come to life.
I can be available full-time and am looking for another family to become part. I am excited to see what new opportunities God will put before me. What better way to experience and see God's love than through the innocence, purity and laughter of children. The children I cared for call me "Mimi" and "Nanny" and they are to me as much mine as they are their parents. I am not looking for a "job" nor am I a "babysitter;" I want to become part of a family.
