Traci P.-Nanny Educator

Hello! My name is Traci. I am the Nanny you are looking for; I am experienced, educated, energetic, caring, and dependable!. I am looking for families who are interested in individual or shared care. Care would take place at my home and include my very friendly 19-month-old son. I prefer to provide care in my home because I have used my knowledge of child development to set up a space that best supports our children's development and makes it easy to allow them to be active and explore the world around them. I have recently been providing temporary care for my neighbor's 14-month-old and it has been a great experience for us all. I look forward to finding another family to partner with to help our children learn and grow together! My background: I have a Bachelor of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology (child development) and a Master of Education. I am certified in PA to teach Elementary K-6 and Middle School (7-9) Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. As you can see, I'm a bit of an overachiever and love all subjects! Really, I just love learning and would love to foster that in your children. My experience includes group childcare, nanny work, teaching, and tutoring. I have experience with children with special needs including learning, autistic, emotional, and gifted support. I have training in the arts and technology and first aid/CPR. As a substitute teacher, I have FBI, State, and Childline background checks that I can provide to you. My philosophy: I believe children learn best through play and exploring the world around them. I take a child-centered approach and build off of your children's interests to guide them towards activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate and will help them to reach their full potential. Through open-ended play, we'll explore and learn in areas of reading, math, science, dramatic play, sensory play, fine and gross motor development, music, and more! We'll get out and explore the world by going to the library, parks, zoos, etc. We'll also have quiet time reading lots of books. And of course we'll do some messy, fun art! I use positive guidance to help your child learn and grow to be the best person they can be. Through positive guidance, they'll know they are loved and develop a secure attachment. They'll learn about consequences, good and bad, and how to make good choices. As part of positive guidance, I do not use corporal punishment or time-outs, instead I use natural consequences.
