As an applied Behavior Analysis is a systematic, individualized approach to help individuals with developmental and learning disabilities. Since children with autism have difficulty interacting with others, they often miss out on learning from the world around them the way that other children do.
So with my knowledge on ABA therapy, I learned how to response and teach them the skills that are delayed or missing, especially those that are the foundation for future learning, such as imitation, verbal and non-verbal communication, social skills, imaginative play skills, academic-readiness skills, and self-care.
I have worked with disable kids at homes to provide them with help to meet up with activities of daily living as in bathing, cooking, cleaning, pass medication and make sure that they are comfortable.
