Looking for a part-time caregiver for our Teen family member with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Autism in Woburn, walk-able to the Center. Are you a teaching assistant (or a teacher), Maybe a responsible high school student or college/grad student looking for a well-paying and FUN job & some extra income?? Flexible hours needed for AWESOME 19-year-old with HF/moderate autism/anxiety. Year round needed, long term commitment desired, even with modified hours. We are looking for a trustworthy, awesome, energetic but flexible, sitter/buddy (care attendant). Paid time off for vacation and sick provided after 6 months. I pay for gas when you are bringing him places and all expenses taken care of during working time.
Must be sensible, have *great* judgment, be active and energetic, drive, and able to provide at least 3 relatively recent childcare references. In a perfect world, you have experience with autism/special needs (anxiety is a big part of my kiddo). Scheduling is negotiable and pay (starting $15+/hour) is excellent for the responsibilities - you have common sense and like your job. Being kind, patient, and smart (no addiction to Smart Phone) are not negotiable. Must drive AND like to walk and exercise. Up to 17 hours week. Flexible days, but one weekend shift needed.
You must have afternoon and evening availability (even changeable as we are super flexible- the right person is the key), about 12-18 hours/week. I have teen girls- mellow family and hours/schedule. He loves the gym (his helper gets to work out for free), zoos, walks, the mall, museums, grocery store and trying to make dinner (being willing to cook simple meals w/ him a plus), bears, music, meteorology. (We also have a handicapped placard).
Pay reported required, ability to relate to young man with autism who is 19, but may act 12ish, needed. Awesome kid! Attended schools for years, now at out of district placement due to intellectual disability and non-aggressive behaviors. He does get anxious but not violent. Ever.
