By trade I have enjoyed teaching for the last 20 years, but due to my own educational and professional challenges I have had the pleasure and honor of working for a Non-for-Profit organization, Faith in Action to Serve & Transform. I learned of this organization. through my church. And from the very moment I began to fulfill the purpose of this organize, which was to "serve others", I began a healing process that I needed to move forward and persevere in my own personal endeavors. Prior to volunteering for FAST, I had recently lost my mother. And being that I had no other family locally, I, unknowingly was providing a need we all have through my gift of service. That need is plain and simple, "LOVE". That's correct, while my goal was to provide my new elderly family with their social, financial, and family resources, they were often providing me with the words of wisdom and encouragement I so dearly needed and longed for from my own mother.
