My family is one of my greatest accomplishments. I like to get involved with sports that my children are enrolled in and events going on in our community. I grew up helping my mom with her in-home daycare for 30 years which is how I've developed my love for taking care of children. I've been babysitting since I was 13 years old. In high school I took multiple childcare classes every year. I was also accepted (1 year early) in our high school's pre-school program. I worked at the Early Learning Center in Des Plaines. After my son was born (11 years ago) I decided to follow in my mother's footsteps and start my own in-home daycare. I love what I do and wouldn't change any of it. I stay up to date with continuing education for child care including CPR and first aid classes. Formal parent teacher conferences are conducted at least twice a year. A Parent Advisory Council, representing all age groups, discusses educational program offerings, helps plan action plans based on the yearly OHU consumer satisfaction survey and the program evaluation survey of the NAEYC, and assists in communicating with other parents. They also help plan center events, including Parent Education sessions, seasonal celebrations and a Teacher Appreciation Day. Our programs include yoga classes (culminating in a yoga presentation at Kindergarten Graduation), music and creative movement, and clay classes. They are available to infants through school age children, and we also offer an 11 week summer camp and holiday care camp.
