Amherst Personal Assistant Jobs

Hello! I am looking for a trustworthy driver to transport my daughter to and from volleyball practice 2x per week from 7:30-9:30 p.m. We live in Amherst VA, about 35 minutes from the facility, so pick up time would be at 6:45. Drive times would be 6:45-7:30 and 9:30-10:15 each practice (we do not yet know which two weeknights her practice will be). I'm looking for a great babysitter for 2 children to assist with before-school care. Duties include helping children get ready for school and driving them to the school bus stop which is approximately 2 miles from the home. Please be comfortable with dogs. The schedule will be 1-2 mornings per week on variable weekdays. Will be able to provide all days needed for the entire school year.

About who needs care: 92-year-old woman in overall good physical condition. Uses a cane, but mobile. Significant hearing loss, and uses hearing aids. Remains sharp mentally, but beginning to display focus and long-term memory issues. Hospitable, but protective of her privacy and space. At this stage in life, fearful of losing autonomy/independence. Recently stopped driving herself, and so needs periodic transportation/assistance in grocery shopping, other short-term errands. Two About the care needs: Needs to be a good communicator, to display interest in and empathy toward others, but not to be overly talkative. Needs a strong but tactful personality capable of winning an old, very independent woman over to accepting assistance. Needs emotional maturity and sound judgement/decision-making skills. Must be reliable and service-oriented.

We are looking for a great babysitter for 1 child in Amherst. We would prefer a babysitter who has their own car and who does not smoke. M is usually cared for by my grandmother, but she has just been released from the hospital and I am looking for someone to assist her for 2 days while my mother is at work and I will be out of town.

About who needs care: recently released from hospital - mobility issues - needs supervision to navigate environment as he is unsteady - is to use walker - he enjoys working with model trains and has a room in the home as well as a shed that he likes to go to when it's not too cold.
