Here at Kams Kottage, we love children and helping them learn. We are passionate about feeding children nutritious foods without chemicals to give them a good start for the day. Great detail has been taken with the products bought, such as the soaps and bug spray, to ensure there are no harmful chemicals. Lesson plans help children learn in fun and creative ways. We start each day with breathing exercises, a positive daily affirmation and incorporate yoga for children. Kam opened Kams Kottage with her Associate's in Early Childhood Education and CPR and first aid certification. Children between the ages of 18 months and older are accepted. We will have 2 full time openings after July 1 and 3 more openings towards the end of July/early August. Part-time children are accepted. Stay-at-Home Mommy

4310 Hambrick Way Stone Mountain, GA

I became a Mommy in February. I will be quitting my corporate job in commercial insurance in June to stay home with my little man. Once my son arrived, I knew I had to think of an alternative. I know how hard it is to be away from your child. I am looking to care for one to two children (preferably 1 year and under) in my home. I volunteered in my church's nursery (Grace Fellowship in Snellville) for three years up until mid-way through my pregnancy. My responsibilities included: calming, entertaining, playing, changing diapers, preparing snack time, and discipline. I think children should laugh and be happy. I'm crafty and love doing do-it-yourself projects with the little ones. I also love capturing milestones and special moments with my son. While in my care, I would love to send you pictures and videos of your child while you are away. I live in a quiet neighborhood, conveniently located near 78 and 285. My husband and I have owned this home since 2008. If there are any preparations you would like me to take before watching your child, please let me know. I want to make you comfortable knowing your child will be safe and happy under my care. My last day of work is Friday, June 14th. I can start that following Monday, but please note that my family and I will be going on vacation the last week of July or the first week in August. This will be my son's first trip to the beach. I hope this is not an inconvenience to you and that you can work around that week. I can also provide babysitting for occasional date nights. My schedule is flexible and I will charge a weekly, flat-rate which we can discuss based on your needs. I am looking for a family I can get to know and develop a relationship with. I hope to find a family with full-time, long-term needs. I would love to meet with you and your family to see if I am what you're looking for. I was born to teach. For me there are few things more uplifting than sharing the gift of knowledge with someone else. When that someone else is a little person, experiencing everything for the first time, it somehow lifts me higher and makes my smile a little wider. I believe with all my heart that it is my capacity to love, listen and learn others that makes me a good teacher. When I am teaching young children, those skills are especially important. Children feel at ease to know that I will take time to show them new things, allow them to explore their world, and am just as excited by the little things as they are. I began caring for and teaching infants and toddlers in the mid '90s and have been paid to teach just about every age in the years since. I have recent college-level early childhood training (2011) and CPR (2012). My teaching style focuses on the individual child, thus I cannot say that I use one particular curriculum or method. I am quite creative in my teaching, so I always use a blend of activities to ensure that the child is both learning and enjoying it. I am however, partial to using Montessori methods for reading and math, as well as independence training and sensory enhancement. (I have no accredited Montessori training, just a lot of research on her methods.) In December 2011, I was blessed to birth a child of my own. As of June 2013, my awesome daughter is 18 months old. She is very friendly, polite, active and eager to learn. She is a tough but not rough little girl. She loves nature walks, books, music and Elmo. She has been potty trained for a few months now. She can identify eight shapes, read twelve letters phonetically, and is working on her numbers. She also uses sign language to say the names of things she cannot yet pronounce, but speaks quite a few intelligible words. Since her birth, I have encouraged a growth of confidence and independence in her, by giving her "just-my-size" challenges and ample praise. Educating her has become my life. Therefore, it is my mission to find her three classmates with which to share her early learning experiences. I am looking for mothers who are interested in allowing our toddlers to build a long-term scholastic relationship and friendship together. I promise to engage and educate your child as my own...and they will learn from each other in a small, safe, and enticing environment. *I am open to offering summer-care/after-care for older siblings as well.
