I am an unlicensed home child care provider, however I hold the education credits and continuing education hours to qualify as a licensed plus level early education teacher. I am also a certified lactation counselor who is able to assist my families with their breastfeeding goals. My philosophy is that children belong in nature, learning from what is around us. Outside time and nature rambles make up the majority of the class day. Children are challenged by natural obstacles, climbing trees, splashing in puddles, collecting items and taking in all of the STEM activities nature provides. When weather does not permit comfortable outside time, the dedicated classroom inside my home provides sensory activities, games, open ended toys, an extensive collection of books as well as teacher lead activities and art. Cooking is a large part of the inside environment, with exploring different foods tastes and textures is a fun sensory experience all can enjoy. Field trips happen with regularity all free of extra charge to our families. Our favorite places are to Squam Lake Science Center, the Montshire Museum and our very own Plymouth NH library. For younger children activities are modified to fit ability. Infants are worn for walks and given the chance to experience nature from a different point of view.

I am a stay-at-home mother seeking work-life balance. I have chosen to open my home to the care of a few other children. My own son is beginning to walk so I keep a neat and safe home. I have a play room set up for children, infant to kindergarten age, and a yard for outdoor activities, including a swing set and other play items. I am CPR certified, and have experience babysitting and leading groups of children. The state of New Hampshire does not require a family day care to license unless they care for five or more children. I only intend to accept 3 other children into my care, which would equal four with my own son, so my home is not licensed at this time. I am in the process of obtaining a license for myself, which means you can rest assured I have been screened properly by the state. Children under my care would have access to the entire ground floor of my home. This includes the play room, bathroom, dining room for meal times, and living room for children who need naps. I offer care at an affordable price, from 730am-530pm, Mon-Fri. Before and after school care for older children can be discussed. My home is located immediately beside a bus stop for the Newfound district. I could provide activities for school-age children or a quiet environment for homework.

One of our goals for the summer is to help boys develop initiative and to plan their time. Counsellors announce activities after the meals. Boys are scheduled for an activity about one third of the time. The rest of the time they choose from the options that the counsellors announce. We require the boys to keep busy, but it is up to them to shape their time as they choose. Counsellors work with boys to use time effectively. We encourage them to try everything in their first year, to be renaissance campers, and later to concentrate on their particular interests.
