I am an unlicensed home child care provider, however I hold the education credits and continuing education hours to qualify as a licensed plus level early education teacher. I am also a certified lactation counselor who is able to assist my families with their breastfeeding goals. My philosophy is that children belong in nature, learning from what is around us. Outside time and nature rambles make up the majority of the class day. Children are challenged by natural obstacles, climbing trees, splashing in puddles, collecting items and taking in all of the STEM activities nature provides.
When weather does not permit comfortable outside time, the dedicated classroom inside my home provides sensory activities, games, open ended toys, an extensive collection of books as well as teacher lead activities and art. Cooking is a large part of the inside environment, with exploring different foods tastes and textures is a fun sensory experience all can enjoy.
Field trips happen with regularity all free of extra charge to our families. Our favorite places are to Squam Lake Science Center, the Montshire Museum and our very own Plymouth NH library.
For younger children activities are modified to fit ability. Infants are worn for walks and given the chance to experience nature from a different point of view.
