Hi, my name is Mersiha (Mer-see-ya) I am the owner of Mersiha's Family daycare. Prior to establishing my own family daycare, I've worked with children of all ages at daycare centers, pre-schools, and as a nanny for families. I originally started my family daycare in 2015 in San Jose, California, right in the heart of Bay Area. My educational background is in Early Childhood Education/Child Development. For 10+ years working with children, my goal is to provide a loving and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. My focus is implementing a schedule with daily activities that stimulate children's emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth. While at the same time providing nourishment, supervision, and assigning fun & enhanced play-based activities. My passion is watching children learn & grow and creating a positive impact in their lives. Licensed by the State of Illinois, CPR and First Aid certified, Home Safety Inspection clearance, & background check clearances. Contact us to answer any questions you may have or to schedule a time for you to come and visit Mersiha's Family Daycare.

Beto says "We are so happy everyday that we found Mersiha. My baby loves spending time at Mersiha's and that melts my heart. Mersiha is such an amazing and caring person...

My history of working with children is quite long. I have cared for babies up to teens. When working at a daycare site, I had the responsibility to care for more than one infant at a time in the nursery. This is when the differences in personalities, schedules, and needs are most closely observed. I have cared for babies who were colic, as well as a couple of babies who had special needs. These little ones, obviously away from their mothers, deserve lots of love and care to make them feel secure. I always strive to meet the needs of children as individuals, keeping the area around them as clean and safe as I possibly can. Working for a fitness group in the playroom was quite an experience. Every day the number of children present was different. There were a variety of ages that I cared for here, from infants (we had two cribs) up to 9-year-olds. I cared for up to 10 at a time, always making sure that everyone was well cared for. I had some coloring, others playing games or blocks, and the babies would be held, one at a time. There were rarely any disputes over toys but occasionally, if this happened, I dealt with it in a calm, respectable manner. Teaching kids to act responsibly, and talk to each other in a calm fashion, I would gently talk to each of them about the situation. I have always taught children to "use their words" rather then their hands to address others. I have taught tot classes. Sometimes little people don't want to leave their mommy. So, in anticipation of this, I make the activities fun! The kids have a great time and they look forward to coming back! During each class, or visit with a child, it is just so important to me to plan activities that will touch on as many areas of growth that I can. It's great when an activity like storytelling for example, can encapsulate children's intellectual, social, and emotional needs. Sometimes stories add some physical movement which is an added bonus. I love to tell stories. Being a good storyteller is one of the ways that I like to get kids involved in the story. Using my own creativity, I have fun with kids by drawing on each child's personal abilities. The creations that they can come up with are awesome! Most recently, my experiences with children have been through our church, as well as the child that I care for weekly. Caring for children is what I was meant to do. Time that I spend with children is time well spent, and when a child smiles back at me, I know that they feel the same!

I am an experienced daycare provider, with a medical field background. Certified in adult and child CPR as well as First Aid, and licensed by DCFS. I worked 11 years in a residential facility for developmentally disabled children and adults. During the last two years I headed the literacy program teaching reading, writing, math, and computer skills. My home daycare is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The entire lower level of my home is dedicated to my daycare with a separate side entrance. The daycare is set up as a safe environment for your child, with childproof cabinets and doors. We have periodic fire drills as well as a fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide alarms located throughout the house. I have no pets and my home is smoke free. Through a caring, nurturing environment, I provide the building blocks for your child's development, education and socialization skills. With daily preschool activities for toddlers and preschoolers, I incorporate structure into play and learning. I include Spanish as well as computer time. Learning through play and exploration is equally important and is a major component of the daily routine. Weather permitting, your child will be able to enjoy play time in a safe, enclosed back yard. Healthy nutritious meals and nap time are scheduled but the daily routine is flexible to accommodate each child's stage of development. My daycare is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I currently have two full-time openings available for children 15 months and over. References available. Rate is $50.00 per day for part-time care (3 days or less). $200.00 per week for full-time care (4-5 days).

Hello! I am a childcare provider and preschool teacher serving families on the northwest side of Chicago and its close surrounding suburbs. Within the last 20 years I have also taught dance, lead after-school theater groups, lead parent and tot classes and was a Sunday school teacher. I care for children ages six weeks to five years old. I am licensed with two full time teaching assistants. My home environment is a safe, clean, nurturing place where your child can thrive and grow. It is important to me that your child feels like my daycare is their "home away from home", so the majority of my house is utilized for your child's sense of security and comfort. On the lower level your child will love our big play/classroom that is filled with learning toys and fun activities! I also have a cozy nursery on the main level for infants and a big enclosed backyard for exploration and play! I am excited to be adding a new music and movement room soon too! Being blessed to raise three daughters of my own I can understand how challenging it can be for working parents to balance all of their commitments and responsibilities. For this reason I strive to offer a program that will enrich your child's whole development while putting your mind at ease. Reading, music, creative movement, gardening, cooking, art projects, fun, and learning are a regular part of our daily routine. Healthy meals and snacks are also provided daily. I believe that my home daycare should be a place where you feel confident and comfortable leaving your child each day. Your little one will be cared for with the utmost kindness, love and respect. My current and former families love the "family" feel that they and their children receive while in my care. I look forward to hearing from you and answering more questions as you make one of the biggest decisions in the life of your child. Thank you for your time and consideration!
