Moments of Joy is not just a daycare center. We are a learning center. From 6 weeks of age to 5 years of age, all teachers write and implement lesson plans based on each age level's developmental domains. Assessments are completed on the children with each season and a progress report is given to the parents. Staff use the assessments to work with each individual child at their developmental level. Parents may request a meeting with their child's teacher at any time. All of our staff are CPR/First Aid certified. All staff work on completing WVSTARS classes and certifications. Several of our staff are also working on their early childhood or child development degrees. Moments of Joy uses Brightwheel to communicate with parents on a daily basis. Brightwheel also allows our parents and staff a touchless check in and check out.

I am a certified teacher who has had trouble looking for adequate child care for my own 1-year-old son in the Morgantown area. Frustrated with long wait lists, nanny nightmares, and home daycare woes, I've decided to start caring for children out of my home. I am CPR and First Aid certified and my husband is a physician. We moved to Morgantown three years ago for his medical residency. Since then, I have worked in a local daycare and taught and coached in the public schools. We live in a charming home in South Park (near a public school bus stop) and have a cocker spaniel. I use cloth diapers with my child and make all of my own baby food using fresh fruits and vegetables. Likewise, meals provided for your child will consist of fresh fruits, vegetables, protein, and whole grains. Since I run a very small operation, your child will be able to eat, play, and nap on his/her own schedule, unlike the larger child care facilities. We have a large backyard for outdoor play and a family garden. Television and gaming systems are nonexistent in our home. We prefer active play, reading, and hands-on discovery. Your child's safety, well-being, and happiness are my number one priority, and my educator experience will provide appropriate structure and educational opportunities to help your child grow and develop. My hours are 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday, but I can work out a schedule based on your family's particular needs. I offer full-time or part-time care for $35/day. After school care and extra hours is $10/hour. I offer tutoring and music lessons for older children.

Miss Tara believes that parents are the experts on their children and she loves to make the family part of the child's education. Activities include experiences in language arts, math, art, music, science, physical education, and social studies - keeping in mind the child's age and abilities. Activities take place inside Gramma's Cottage and inside Miss Tara's fenced in yard. Miss Tara has 2 cats and one very friendly Golden Retriever. Please keep this in mind if there are allergies. The pets are up to date on all of their shots, healthy, friendly, and tolerant of children. Miss Tara serves healthy meals including breakfast, lunch, and two snacks per day.
