My history of working with children is quite long. I have cared for babies up to teens. When working at a daycare site, I had the responsibility to care for more than one infant at a time in the nursery. This is when the differences in personalities, schedules, and needs are most closely observed. I have cared for babies who were colic, as well as a couple of babies who had special needs. These little ones, obviously away from their mothers, deserve lots of love and care to make them feel secure. I always strive to meet the needs of children as individuals, keeping the area around them as clean and safe as I possibly can. Working for a fitness group in the playroom was quite an experience. Every day the number of children present was different. There were a variety of ages that I cared for here, from infants (we had two cribs) up to 9-year-olds. I cared for up to 10 at a time, always making sure that everyone was well cared for. I had some coloring, others playing games or blocks, and the babies would be held, one at a time. There were rarely any disputes over toys but occasionally, if this happened, I dealt with it in a calm, respectable manner. Teaching kids to act responsibly, and talk to each other in a calm fashion, I would gently talk to each of them about the situation. I have always taught children to "use their words" rather then their hands to address others. I have taught tot classes. Sometimes little people don't want to leave their mommy. So, in anticipation of this, I make the activities fun! The kids have a great time and they look forward to coming back! During each class, or visit with a child, it is just so important to me to plan activities that will touch on as many areas of growth that I can. It's great when an activity like storytelling for example, can encapsulate children's intellectual, social, and emotional needs. Sometimes stories add some physical movement which is an added bonus. I love to tell stories. Being a good storyteller is one of the ways that I like to get kids involved in the story. Using my own creativity, I have fun with kids by drawing on each child's personal abilities. The creations that they can come up with are awesome! Most recently, my experiences with children have been through our church, as well as the child that I care for weekly. Caring for children is what I was meant to do. Time that I spend with children is time well spent, and when a child smiles back at me, I know that they feel the same!

Currently looking for an infant to be a part of our daycare family. I absolutely adore children and have had my own daycare in my home for 13 years now. I will give your children mostly Organic and/or natural homemade meals, no junk food/snacks or drinks. My focus when caring for your child is safety, learning through play, and having a lot of fun!! If you are interested in full or part time daycare for your child, I can offer you: - a safe child-friendly environment where they will be closely supervised at all times. - your child will get plenty of interaction with other kids, but not so many that your child's needs are over-looked. - a clean home full of toys (baby to school age). - one-on-one teaching time for age appropriate skills (numbers, colors, ABC's), with workbooks for the kids over 3 and learning toys and games for the younger ones. - absolutely no junk food, healthy home-made meals and snacks, mostly Organic and/or natural. - tons of outside play time. We have several parks within walking distance and have daily indoor play-dates with several other neighborhood children in the winter. I am incredibly active and playful. I love to get down on the floor and engage the children in imaginative free play...and can chase the fastest little toddler all around!! Since I have watched children full-time for almost 14 years now, I also have vast experience with just about everything child-related. I can smoothly handle any and all circumstances that may come up with your child (separation anxiety, emergency situations, food allergies). I can also assist you with transitions like bottle to cup, 2 naps to 1, potty training, etc. I am CPR Certified, mature, patient and 100% reliable. I would also be happy to provide several other references upon request. I look forward to hearing from you if you are interested in home daycare.

Hello. I am an early childhood caregiver with 15 years expirience. I have worked in schools, large centers, home daycares ect. I have decided to open my own small daycare in my home. I have a designated space for little ones.I also live very close by two large parks for outdoor play Welles /Horner. For now, I am only looking for two children to care for(operating M-F 8am-6pm /flexible). My husband and I are trying to start our own family and we will be getting a larger space. As we embark on this journey I would love to have some other friends for our little one when the time comes. I have extensive knowledge in infant care . I am great with first time parents and can answer any questions you may have. I have completed over 12 hours of course work in early childhood development as my minor. I am registered as an educator and have been background checked through DCFS. (all up to date) I currently work at a small group home/ daycare and I want to transition into my own . We have 13+ children we care for . I would like to cut down and just focus on a smaller group that has more attention on each child. Even though I am used to caring for multiple children at once , I will also have the help of my mother who is retired from the medical field helping me. She is certified, raised me ,along with my 5 other siblings ,and many grandchildren. If you have any questions feel free to contact me . I will get back to you ASAP.

Rainforest Two

Rainforest Learning Center is an environmental arts-based preschool and infant program for children six weeks to six years. At Rainforest, we introduce learning through active discovery and artistic exploration. Our innovative programs are worlds beyond anything Chicago has seen before and are producing students who are exceptionally prepared for life beyond preschool. Rainforest uses the arts to encourage academic, personal, and social growth. Our programs go beyond traditional finger-painting and crayons (though we have this too) and include work with a diverse range of media such as sculpture, pottery, painting, piano, dance, yoga, and theater. The diversity of artistic experiences we offer our students is next to unheard of in a early childhood setting. Our programs nurture each student's creative vision and provide ample opportunity for children to explore their creative sides. Along side our arts curriculum, Rainforest offers an equally unique and successful academic curriculum. Our curriculum centers on a hands-on, engaging approach towards learning that creates a fun and emotionally supportive place for all children who have a multitude of different learning styles. By incorporating our specialty arts program into an all encompassing academic lesson plan, students of all ages have thrived and excelled academically, with a consistent pattern of students being accepted into many of the city's top primary schools. Rainforest Learning Center's students are constantly exposed to the wonders of the world around them. There are so many exciting places to explore right here in the city, and we take a great joy in adventuring with our students. From the zoo and the aquarium, to nature parks and museums, to plays for children, Rainforest students go on field trips every month of the year. We also take great care to expose our students to environmentally-friendly learning programs. Living in an urban environment, our students often miss out on seeing much of what nature has to offer, which makes it even more important that every student experiences hands-on natural science learning as part of our program.
